The Volvo EX30, revealed in Milan in June 2023, quickly became one of Europe’s best-selling electric vehicles. With growing demand in the United States, Volvo Car USA has prioritized the release of the Twin Motor Performance variant to meet consumer interest. This variant features all-wheel drive and quicker acceleration, making it the fastest accelerating Volvo ever produced. The Single Motor variant remains scheduled for a 2025 release in the U.S.
The EX30 has a starting MSRP of $44,900, and is available in Plus or Ultra equipment levels. Customers who have already placed deposits are invited to configure their vehicles through Volvo’s official website, with deliveries commencing by late 2024. Volvo has emphasized that delivering the EX30 ahead of the planned schedule is in line with the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
Mike Cottone, President of Volvo Car USA and Canada, said, “Volvo has been and always will be about people, which is why we worked hard to make the Volvo EX30 available sooner than anticipated for our customers. The EX30 has already proved exceptionally popular in other markets, and we’re excited to bring it to the U.S. this year.”
The EX30 comes equipped with features expected of any Volvo—safety, quality, and Scandinavian design. Additionally, the Twin Motor Performance model boasts all-wheel drive and faster acceleration, as well as a charging capacity of up to 153 kW and an EPA range of 253 miles. This means charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes just over 25 minutes under optimal conditions.
The vehicle represents Volvo’s efforts to provide a premium electric SUV at a competitive price, comparable to its combustion engine-powered counterparts. Designed to have the smallest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo car to date, the EX30 aims to improve safety, convenience, and the overall driving experience through cutting-edge technology and signature Scandinavian craftsmanship.
The EX30 has already made an impact, winning several prestigious awards, including the 2024 World Urban Car of the Year and the Red Dot Best of the Best Product Design 2024.
