Xos, Inc., a leader in the electric commercial vehicles sector, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Winnebago Industries, renowned for its outdoor lifestyle products. Together, they will develop a fully electric chassis for Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicles division, leveraging Xos’ advanced battery and electronics technology. This collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for zero-emission vehicles in commercial applications, showcasing both companies’ commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability.

Robert Kim, director of Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicles division, emphasized the strategic nature of this alliance, stating, “We constantly seek new ways to enhance our customers’ mission, and our partnership with Xos is an important next step in our efforts.” The partnership is a response to the increasing demand for eco-friendly vehicle options, underpinning Winnebago’s leadership in the specialty vehicle market and its commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies seamlessly into its manufacturing processes.

The collaboration between Xos and Winnebago brings to the specialty vehicle market innovative, fully-electric solutions, capitalizing on both companies’ industry leadership. Dakota Semler, CEO and Co-Founder of Xos, Inc., highlighted the significance of the partnership, “This is a testament to the quality and reliability of our products, and to the customer-centered design approach of Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicle team.” The specialized chassis will feature Xos’ SV platform technology, ensuring scalability, reliable parts access, continuous software enhancements, and extensive service support.

The electric chassis will support a variety of applications, including mobile healthcare, community support vehicles, and command centers, boasting up to 200 miles of driving range. This innovation not only eliminates tailpipe emissions but also contributes to noise reduction and operational cost savings.

Jamie Sorenson, director in Winnebago Industries’ Advanced Technology Group, further highlighted the companies’ shared vision for innovation, emphasizing the importance of embracing change and fostering collaboration to better serve customer needs and adapt to technological advancements.
