ADS-TEC Energy and Paragon Mobility have partnered to deploy a series of ultra-fast, battery-buffered EV charging stations across France. This collaboration aims to enhance the charging infrastructure in France by providing high-quality, flexible, and fast charging solutions, catering to the growing electric vehicle market.
The partnership has already resulted in the deployment of the first ChargePost EV chargers in France, offering charging capabilities of up to 300 kW, even in areas with weak grid connections. This technology brings additional revenue opportunities through grid services, energy recovery, and digital advertising.
Key Highlights
- Partnership between ADS-TEC Energy and Paragon Mobility to enhance EV charging infrastructure in France.
- Deployment of ChargePost EV chargers with up to 300 kW capacity, supporting weak grid connections.
- Digital advertising opportunities provided by 75-inch LED displays integrated into ChargePost.
- Renewable energy utilization, bidirectional grid support, and the ability to network multiple systems to create virtual power plants.
ADS-TEC Energy, a leading provider of battery-buffered fast charging systems, announced its partnership with Paragon Mobility to support the increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) in France. With over 206,000 new EVs registered in the country since the beginning of 2024, France has become a crucial market for both companies.
Headquartered in Sophia Antipolis, Paragon Mobility focuses on energy optimization, with EV charging as a core service. In addition to its own battery-buffered modular charging solutions called Pods, Paragon has integrated ADS-TEC Energy’s ChargePost into its offering to enhance the flexibility and speed of charging services.
ChargePost supports charging up to 300 kW or 150 kW when charging two vehicles simultaneously. It also includes large 75-inch LED displays for digital advertising, providing an additional revenue stream for operators. The system is capable of utilizing renewable or locally-generated electricity to charge its 201 kWh battery and features bidirectional capability to feed energy back into the grid when needed. Moreover, several ChargePost systems can be networked, forming a virtual power plant to manage energy more efficiently and profitably.
This technology’s flexibility makes it suitable for more than just passenger cars. Paragon Mobility is already using ChargePost to charge electric buses, and other customers use ADS-TEC Energy solutions to charge trucks. By delivering reliable, high-performance infrastructure, Paragon Mobility aims to transform EV charging in France, making it a seamless experience for consumers and fostering trust in the growing EV market.
Paragon Mobility’s commitment to high-quality, flexible charging infrastructure has already garnered attention. The company was listed on the SET100 list by the German Energy Agency DENA and World Energy Council in 2023, while CEO Jean Lemaire was named Best Charging and Energy Distribution Infrastructure CEO (Europe) by EU Business News Magazine. The company also recently teamed up with former Formula E World Champion Sebastien Buemi.
“With Paragon Mobility, we have a strong and competent partner at our side who will implement exciting and inspiring projects with our products in France and elsewhere,” said Henrik Langwald, Senior Vice President Head of Sales at ADS-TEC Energy.
“Paragon Mobility defines itself by delivering highly optimized, flexible, high quality charging infrastructure even in the most constrained sites. With these first signature deployments with ADS-TEC Energy in France, combining super charging with battery storage in low grid connection sites and intensive applications, we have started to write down a remarkable page in energy transition,” said Jean Lemaire, CEO of Paragon Mobility.
