UK agricultural distributor Agrii has integrated the all-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 into its fleet, becoming one of the first operators in the country to deploy the long-range electric heavy goods vehicle. The vehicle was supplied by Midlands Truck & Van following comprehensive testing under full-load conditions on Agrii’s operational routes.

Technical Performance and Route Capabilities
The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 LS ProCabin Stream 4×2 configuration was selected after rigorous evaluation demonstrated its ability to complete Agrii’s demanding 460 km round trip between its central distribution centre and depot network. The vehicle’s class-leading 500 km+ operational range proved sufficient to complete the route with reserve capacity remaining.
Richard Pinnock, Agrii’s National Distribution Manager, stated: “It’s almost unnatural to think a truck that size can be electric and achieve such a distance on one charge. Sustainability is an important issue for the agricultural sector, and adopting our first electric HGV is a crucial step in reducing our environmental impact.”

Operating data indicates the eActros 600 will eliminate approximately 59 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, calculated on Agrii’s typical 60,000 km annual mileage profile. This reduction represents a significant step in the company’s environmental strategy within the agricultural distribution sector.

The electric powertrain delivers operational benefits beyond emissions reduction. The vehicle’s quiet operation proves particularly advantageous during night-time delivery operations in rural areas, minimizing acoustic disturbance to surrounding communities while maintaining Agrii’s distribution schedule.

The deployment represents an extension of Agrii’s decade-long partnership with Midlands Truck & Van and Truck Sales Executive Amit Verma, who have supported the company’s Mercedes-Benz fleet development throughout this period.

Vehicle Branding and Specifications
Professional vinyl wrapping was executed by Finch Signs using Metamark Metaglide material, applied via Roland VG3-540 printing technology to ensure colour accuracy and durability across the vehicle’s complex surface contours.
