Alpine has opened order books for the A390, the French brand’s first five-seat electric sport fastback. A-Pass pre-order customers get first access, with general ordering set to begin on April 16, 2026. Prices start at £61,390 on-the-road (approximately $81,000 USD), and first customer deliveries are expected this summer.
Highlights
- Three-model UK lineup spans the 400 PS GT (from £61,390 / ~$81,000), limited-run Premiere Edition (from £65,390 / ~$86,300, capped at 390 units), and 470 PS GTS (from £69,390 / ~$91,600).
- Active Torque Vectoring uses two independent rear-axle motors for per-wheel torque control, with the GTS hitting 0–62 mph in 3.9 seconds.
- 89 kWh battery delivers up to 345 miles of WLTP range and supports 190 kW DC rapid charging (15–80% in 25 minutes on the GTS).
- Bidirectional charging comes standard across the range, with V2G and V2L capability on all models.
Powertrain and Performance
The A390 is built on Alpine’s dedicated electric architecture with a tri-motor all-wheel-drive layout. The GT and Premiere Edition produce 400 PS and 661 Nm of torque, reaching 0–62 mph in 4.8 seconds. The GTS steps up to 470 PS and 824 Nm, cutting that sprint to 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 136 mph.
Central to the chassis is Alpine’s Active Torque Vectoring system. Two independent motors on the rear axle allow individual torque delivery to each rear wheel. Alpine said its development team benchmarked the A390’s handling directly against the A110 sports car to maintain driver engagement as a priority.
Battery, Range, and Charging
All variants share an 89 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery pack. The GT and Premiere Edition achieve up to 345 miles of WLTP combined range, while the GTS returns up to 312 miles due to its wider performance tires and higher output.
DC rapid charging peaks at 190 kW, enabling a 15–80% charge in as little as 25 minutes on the GTS. An 11 kW bidirectional AC charger is standard, with a 22 kW AC unit optional on the GT and GTS and included on the Premiere Edition. All models support vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.
Interior and Technology
The cabin features Alpine’s feel@one cockpit, built around a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12-inch central multimedia screen. Google built-in services, an EV route planner, and over-the-air software updates are integrated. A Devialet 13-speaker audio system is standard, with the GTS receiving the upgraded Devialet XtremeSound system.
Driver-assistance features include intelligent adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot intervention, and 360-degree parking cameras. The Premiere Edition and GTS add a hands-free parking function as part of the Driving pack.
Dimensions and Specifications
The A390 measures 4,615 mm long, 1,525 mm tall, and rides on a 2,708 mm wheelbase. Boot volume is 532 liters, expanding to 1,643 liters with the rear seats folded. Weight distribution sits at a near-even 49:51 front-to-rear split, with kerb weight at approximately 2,124 kg for the GT.
Trim Breakdown
The GT rides on 20-inch diamond-cut alloys with Michelin Sport EV tires and features six-piston monobloc front brake calipers, Alcantara and Nappa leather sport seats, and customizable 48-color ambient lighting.
The Premiere Edition adds Sabelt sport seats with massage, blue Alpine-branded brake calipers, a contrasting black roof, and the 22 kW AC charger. Production is limited to 390 units.
The GTS tops the range with 21-inch forged Snowflake wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, red “Rouge Racing” brake calipers, an Alcantara headliner, and the Devialet XtremeSound audio system.
Nicola Burnside, Brand Director for Alpine, said: “With its blend of expressive design, bespoke electric performance and the dynamic spirit that defines every Alpine, the A390 marks an important step in the brand’s transition to a fully electric future — one that remains firmly centred on driving pleasure.”
