BYD Group Unveils Eight Debuts at Goodwood

BYD Group will present eight vehicle debuts across DENZA, YANGWANG and BYD at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, headlined by the global reveal of the all-electric DENZA Z supercar.

BYD Group will present eight vehicle debuts across three brands at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, staged on a 21,700-square-foot (2,016-square-meter) plot the company says is the largest in the event’s history. The three-level stand from BYD Group brings together premium brand DENZA, luxury brand YANGWANG, and the core BYD marque, with reveals ranging from world firsts to UK market launches. DENZA takes center stage, using the festival both to launch officially in the UK and to stage two global premieres.

Highlights

  • BYD Group will show eight debuts across DENZA, YANGWANG, and BYD on a three-level stand measuring 21,700 square feet (2,016 square meters).
  • The DENZA Z Coupe makes its world debut with a three-motor powertrain rated for a 217 mph top speed, debuting alongside a track-focused DENZA Z Racing.
  • The YANGWANG U9 Xtreme, holder of a 308.4 mph production-car top-speed record and a 6:59.157 Nürburgring lap, appears on UK soil for the first time.
  • The BYD SHARK pickup debuts in Europe with a 429 hp (435 PS) plug-in hybrid powertrain, a 0-62 mph time of 5.7 seconds, and a 5,512 lb (2,500 kg) towing capacity.

DENZA Z Supercar Leads the Brand’s Global Premieres

The Festival of Speed hosts the world debuts of the DENZA Z Coupe and DENZA Z Racing, a pair of all-electric coupes built on the “Pure Emotion” design philosophy first shown by the DENZA Z Spider at Auto China 2026 in Beijing earlier this year. The Coupe shares the Spider’s three-motor powertrain, which the company says enables a 217 mph top speed, paired with a two-plus-two seating layout and a large trunk. The Racing model takes a more extreme approach, most notably through a carbon fiber aerodynamic package.

DENZA’s premium range extends beyond the Z. Making its first European appearance, the BAO 5 enters the premium SUV segment using DM-o (Dual-Mode Off-Road) technology, combining three electric motors with a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine for both on- and off-road driving.

The event also marks DENZA’s official UK launch. The Z9 GT arrives first, followed by the D9 DM-i. The D9 offers massaging middle-row seats that recline up to 152 degrees, heating and ventilation across all seven seats, and luggage capacity of at least 15.2 cubic feet (430 liters) with a full complement of passengers. Its DM-i powertrain delivers up to 130 miles of WLTP pure-electric range and 348 hp (353 PS) through a dual-motor layout. The D9’s electric range is a manufacturer-cited WLTP figure; WLTP results are not directly comparable to US EPA ratings and typically run higher, and no EPA rating applies to these Europe- and UK-market vehicles.

BYD Group Unveils Eight Debuts at Goodwood

BYD Brings DOLPHIN G and SHARK to the UK

Following its global debut earlier this month in Berlin, the DOLPHIN G DM-i reaches UK soil for the first time. BYD says it is the only supermini on the market with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, offering a total driving range of 646 miles and trunk space exceeding that of many larger family hatchbacks.

The SHARK pickup makes its European debut with a 429 hp (435 PS) DM-o plug-in hybrid powertrain. The company reports it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds, offers an electric-only range of 55 miles, and delivers a towing capacity of 5,512 lbs (2,500 kg).

YANGWANG U9 Xtreme Reaches UK Soil

YANGWANG, BYD’s luxury brand, brings the U9 Xtreme — which the company calls the world’s fastest production car — to the festival. The car has appeared on European soil twice before: first to set a 6:59.157 lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, a production EV record, and second to set a production-car top-speed record of 308.4 mph. Its appearance confirms availability to European buyers.

The brand is also represented by the U7 luxury sedan, offered with both plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains and equipped with an e⁴ four-motor layout, four-wheel steering, and DiSus-Z active suspension. Joining the U9 Xtreme is the U8L, a four-seater luxury SUV that BYD says can also swim.

The BYD Stand Offers More Than Cars

Beyond the vehicles, the BYD Group stand provides a dedicated Tech Zone, an off-roading display area, robots, driving simulators, a merchandise store, and a roof terrace for hospitality.

BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li framed the showing as a statement of ambition. “This is more than a product showcase. It is a statement of intent. With eight premieres across three distinct brands, BYD Group is demonstrating how innovation, performance, premium design and sustainability can coexist within one of the most comprehensive automotive portfolios in the world.”
