The all-electric Cadillac VISTIQ has been named the 2026 German Car of the Year (GCOTY) in the Luxury category, earning global recognition for its bold design, advanced technology, and refined craftsmanship.

This milestone marks a historic achievement for Cadillac and General Motors, making Cadillac the first automaker to win consecutive GCOTY awards in the luxury category. The honor underscores the brand’s growing influence in the global premium EV market.
GCOTY co-founder Jens Meiners praised the VISTIQ’s exceptional balance of innovation and everyday usability, stating, “The Cadillac VISTIQ impressed the jury with its remarkable combination of visionary design, technological advancement, and luxurious everyday usability. This vehicle exemplifies the new era of the electric premium segment – bold, modern, and uncompromisingly high-quality.”
The three-row SUV impressed the jury with its spacious interior, premium materials, and advanced driver-assistance technologies. Designed for up to seven passengers, the VISTIQ integrates forward-thinking features such as an augmented-reality head-up display and night-vision capability, delivering a unique fusion of performance and comfort.
John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac, expressed pride in the recognition: “Cadillac is gaining momentum around the world, driven by our exceptional product portfolio. Receiving prestigious recognition like the German Car of the Year award in the luxury category validates that progress. The German Car of the Year award, among the industry’s most respected accolades, evaluates vehicles on design, innovation, usability, performance, and value. Five category winners are selected annually—Compact, Premium, Luxury, Performance, and New Energy—with the overall 2026 GCOTY winner set to be revealed on November 17, 2025.
