Porsche Cayenne S Electric Joins All-Electric SUV Lineup

Porsche adds the Cayenne S Electric to its all-electric SUV lineup with 544 PS, 653 km range, direct oil cooling, and formerly Turbo-exclusive chassis options.

Porsche has added the Cayenne S Electric to its all-electric SUV range. The mid-tier model slots between the base Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Electric Turbo. It delivers 400 kW (544 PS) through dual permanent magnet synchronous motors. The vehicle is available to order now.

Highlights

  • Performance: 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h; Launch Control boosts output to 490 kW (666 PS)
  • Range and charging: Up to 653 km WLTP range from a 113 kWh battery; 10–80% charge in under 16 minutes at up to 400 kW DC
  • Drivetrain tech: Direct oil cooling on the rear-axle motor and silicon carbide pulse inverter handling up to 620 amps
  • New options: Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), Active Ride suspension, Torque Vectoring Plus, and Sport Chrono Package now available below Turbo level

Powertrain and Thermal Management

The Cayenne S Electric uses one permanent magnet synchronous motor on each axle. Combined system output reaches 400 kW (544 PS), rising to 490 kW (666 PS) with Launch Control engaged.

Porsche carries over the Cayenne Turbo’s direct oil cooling for the rear motor. This approach dissipates heat directly from current-carrying components. As a result, sustained high-load performance improves compared to conventional cooling methods.

The rear-axle pulse inverter uses silicon carbide semiconductors. It processes currents up to 620 amps.

Battery and Charging

The Cayenne S Electric shares the same 113 kWh gross-capacity high-voltage battery as the rest of the Cayenne Electric lineup. Combined WLTP range reaches up to 653 km. Preliminary energy consumption sits at 21.6–19.5 kWh/100 km.

At a compatible fast-charging station, the battery charges from 10% to 80% state of charge in under 16 minutes. Maximum DC charging power reaches up to 400 kW under optimal conditions.

Chassis and Performance Options

Several options previously reserved for the Turbo model are now available on the Cayenne S. These include:

  • Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus): Enhances cornering precision through active torque distribution
  • Porsche Active Ride suspension: Compensates for body movements to maintain driving stability
  • Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB): Features yellow-painted calipers
  • Sport Chrono Package: Includes Push-to-Pass, which adds up to 90 kW (122 PS) for 10 seconds; also includes Track mode with battery pre-conditioning

Exterior and Interior Design

The Cayenne S Electric features model-specific front and rear aprons in Volcano Grey Metallic. Inserts and the diffuser are painted in body color. The model rides on 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels. Thirteen exterior colors are available.

Additionally, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has introduced the Interior Style Package. This option is available across all Cayenne Electric variants. It pairs with the Mystic Green Metallic exterior color and features two-tone leather in Black and Delgada Green. The package extends to door trims, 14-way Comfort Seats, and color-matched seat belts.

Interior accents include Izabal Green aluminum trim elements, matching details on the GT sports steering wheel, and green-accented instrument cluster displays. The vehicle key is also finished in Izabal Green.
