ChargePoint, a pioneer in networked electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has announced a strategic collaboration with AcBel Polytech Inc. and Kinpo Group, aimed at enhancing its cost structure and accelerating its time to market. This partnership signifies a joint effort to co-develop EV charging products, promising to deliver these innovations more swiftly and economically while upholding ChargePoint’s standards for quality and reliability.

Under this new agreement, AcBel, renowned for its power supply manufacturing expertise, will co-design hardware for ChargePoint’s extensive range of EV charging solutions. This collaboration is set to leverage AcBel’s four decades of experience in power design and Kinpo’s prowess in electronic manufacturing, thereby strengthening ChargePoint’s research and development efforts. The goal is to introduce new products more quickly and cost-effectively, a move that underscores a shared commitment to excellence and innovation in the EV sector.

Rick Wilmer, ChargePoint’s CEO, emphasized the importance of this alliance, stating, “This collaboration with AcBel represents a significant milestone in the evolution of our product development strategy.” He highlighted the partnership’s role in enhancing operational excellence and driving down costs without compromising the quality, reliability, and durability that ChargePoint is known for.

From AcBel’s perspective, Jerry Hsu, the Chairman, expressed enthusiasm about the transformative potential of this collaboration, viewing it as a testament to AcBel’s design prowess and a strategic utilization of group resources. Andrew Chen, CEO and General Manager of Kinpo Group, also remarked on the synergy created by combining Kinpo’s technological capabilities with AcBel’s design expertise and ChargePoint’s market leadership, envisioning a significant boost in Kinpo Group’s involvement in the EV charging market.
