The All-New Bigster HYBRID 155 represents a significant milestone for HORSE and its parent company, Horse Powertrain. It showcases HORSE’s capabilities in engine development and production, positioning itself as a key player in low-emission powertrain systems. The engine is produced at HORSE’s facility in Valladolid, Spain, delivering up to 107bhp. This is a landmark achievement, being the first engine fully designed and produced in-house by HORSE since its formation in July 2023.

Matias Giannini, CEO of Horse Powertrain, highlighted the importance of this milestone: “The flagship All-New Bigster will be a perfect showcase of Horse Powertrain’s hybrid powertrain leadership and expertise.” He emphasized the full in-house capabilities of the company, noting, “Horse Powertrain has now proved that it can handle the full life cycle of engine development and production.”

Patrice Haettel, CEO of HORSE, added, “Our latest high-efficiency, market-leading engine will ensure that the All-New Bigster offers incredible performance and efficiency in all conditions and driving modes, providing a convenient and low-emission vehicle that raises the bar for the SUV class.”

The HYBRID 155 powertrain features two electric motors: a 50bhp electric motor and a high-voltage starter/generator, along with a 1.4kWh 230V battery. It also comes with a clutchless gearbox, featuring four gears for the combustion engine and two for the electric motors, offering a 6% reduction in fuel consumption and emissions compared to the previous HYBRID 140 powertrain.

The next-generation electrified powertrain in the Dacia Bigster also provides market-leading performance and towing capacity. Thanks to regenerative braking, efficient battery energy recovery, and an advanced gearbox, the Bigster HYBRID 155 can operate in all-electric mode for up to 80% of urban driving and always starts in all-electric mode.
