Changan Automobile’s electric mobility brand DEEPAL has introduced the G318 to the UAE market through exclusive partner Al Tayer Motors. The range-extended hybrid SUV was unveiled November 18 at Nara Oasis in Dubai.

Powertrain and Performance
The G318 utilizes a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) configuration designed to address range limitations associated with battery-electric vehicles in the region. The system pairs an electric motor with a petrol generator that charges the battery during operation.
According to DEEPAL, this architecture supports both daily commuting and extended journeys across varied terrain common to the UAE landscape.
“The G318 reflects our approach to developing vehicles that address practical mobility needs while supporting the transition toward lower-emission transportation,” said Xiao Feng, General Manager of Changan Automobile’s Middle East and Africa Division.
Design and Interior
The exterior follows DEEPAL’s Meteorolite Cutting design language, featuring geometric lines and an elevated body profile suited to SUV applications. The cabin prioritizes digital integration with the following features:
- Central control screen with connectivity functions
- Enhanced sound insulation for improved cabin refinement
- Driver-focused digital layout
Chassis and Safety Systems
The G318 incorporates adaptive suspension technology paired with an intelligent terrain management system. This configuration automatically adjusts driving parameters based on detected road conditions.
Safety equipment includes:
- Multiple airbags
- Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS)
- Panoramic camera system for low-speed and off-road visibility
Pricing and Availability
The DEEPAL G318 is available through Al Tayer Motors’ sales network and digital platforms starting at AED 129,900. Warranty coverage includes six years or 150,000 km for the vehicle and eight years or 150,000 km for the battery.
