The all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona helped power the Charger lineup to two major wins at the 2026 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards. The next-generation muscle car earned both Best of the Year and Best Sport Coupe honors. MotorWeek cited the Charger’s multi-energy performance, innovation and heritage-inspired design in its selection. The award adds to a growing list of accolades that includes the 2026 North American Car of the Year (NACTOY) and Car of the Year honors from TopGear.com, Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News.
Highlights
- The 670-horsepower Charger Daytona Scat Pack is the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car, contributing to MotorWeek’s Best of the Year selection.
- MotorWeek recognized the Charger’s multi-energy approach, which pairs all-electric and internal combustion options on a single chassis.
- The Charger lineup features standard all-wheel drive across all powertrains in both two-door and four-door configurations.
- The award marks the Charger’s second consecutive win in the Best Sport Coupe category.
EV Performance Drives Industry Recognition
MotorWeek’s selection highlighted the Charger Daytona’s role in proving that electrification can enhance street-legal high performance. John Davis, creator and host of MotorWeek, noted the Daytona “shows that being a BEV can actually enhance street-legal high performance, while still appealing to all the senses.”
The award program evaluates more than 150 vehicles annually through instrumented testing. Winners are selected across 12 categories before a single Best of the Year is chosen.
