Kindred Motorworks has revealed the EV Bronco, the latest addition to its lineup, which includes conventionally powered Heritage and Trail editions. This marks the company’s first fully electric vehicle, with plans to transition all future models to EVs, including the upcoming Kindred EV VW Bus and Kindred EV Chevy 3100 pickup.
“We are so proud to showcase our EV Bronco here in Monterey,” said Rob Howard, Kindred Motorworks founder and CEO. “Customer enthusiasm for it has been high from day one. Now, after years of in-house development, we’re getting ready to put it into production alongside our conventionally powered Broncos at our Mare Island facility.”
Performance and Design
The Kindred EV Bronco is powered by a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain and an 80 kWh battery that supports DC fast charging. The system delivers an estimated 402 hp and 492 lb-ft of torque, with further field testing and tuning underway. The vehicle’s design includes an independent front suspension, multilink coil-spring rear, and reinforced powder-coated frame. Standard features include Wavetrac limited-slip differentials, four-wheel power disc brakes with regenerative braking, and a six-point roll cage.
Customers can choose from 11 colors, with either light cream or black accents. The interior features custom leather upholstery, an LCD gauge cluster inspired by the original Bronco, and a premium audio system with a touchscreen media center. The Kindred EV Bronco also includes full LED lighting, keyless entry, power windows and locks, and removable carpeting.
“The future of Kindred Motorworks is modernized, fully electric vintage vehicles,” said Howard. “The Kindred EV Bronco ushers in this new era by delivering an incredibly user-friendly, zero-emissions experience wrapped in a timeless, iconic design. This is a thrilling moment, and there are many more to come.”
