Mercedes-Benz has released the first interior images of its all-new electric C-Class four days before the sedan’s world premiere, detailing a cabin that carries over much of the architecture from the all-electric GLC and positions the model as the brand’s next entry into the compact executive EV segment. The full reveal is scheduled for April 20, 2026, and will be livestreamed from South Korea via the Mercedes-Benz media portal.
Highlights
- World premiere set for April 20, 2026, livestreamed from South Korea at 6:30 a.m. EDT
- Optional pillar-to-pillar MBUX Hyperscreen with roughly ten million pixels and matrix backlighting
- Second Mercedes model with a Vegan Society–certified interior package, following the electric GLC
- Multi-source heat pump claimed to heat the cabin twice as fast as ICE models in cold weather while using about half the energy

A Cabin Carried Over From the Electric GLC
The interior architecture of the electric C-Class closely mirrors the all-electric GLC revealed last year. Buyers will be offered two display configurations: the MBUX Superscreen, which groups separate instrument, center and passenger displays under a single glass pane, or the larger MBUX Hyperscreen, an uninterrupted pillar-to-pillar display. Mercedes-Benz says the Hyperscreen uses matrix backlight technology with nearly ten million pixels and independently adjustable brightness zones, allowing separate content for driver and front passenger.
A large trim element links the center console and dashboard into a single design sweep. Ten high-resolution ambient styles can be selected on Hyperscreen- and Superscreen-equipped cars, with the instrument cluster graphics and ambient lighting coordinated to each theme.
Materials, Seats and Vegan Package
Three standard interior colors — Black, Beech Brown and Macchiato Beige — are offered alongside trim choices that include White Open-Pore Natural Fiber and Open-Pore Fineline Birch Wood in Grey or Brown. An optional “Twisted Diamond” Nappa leather adds diamond perforation with contrast stitching, and AMG Line seats feature moccasin stitching on the side bolsters.
Optional high-end front seats include electro-pneumatic 4-way lumbar support, a full-backrest massage function, ventilation, and a 4D rumble feature that pairs with the available Burmester 4D Surround Sound System. Speaker grilles on Burmester-equipped cars are finished in stainless steel with a new horizontal line graphic.
The electric C-Class becomes the second Mercedes-Benz model — after the all-electric GLC — to offer an interior independently certified by The Vegan Society. The optional Vegan Package covers soft-touch surfaces including seat upholstery, the headliner, pillars, door panels and carpeting.

Thermal and Acoustic Engineering
Mercedes-Benz states that the automatic climate control in the electric C-Class heats the cabin roughly twice as fast as comparable combustion models during a 20-minute drive at 19°F, while using about half the energy thanks to a multi-source heat pump. The company says heating begins automatically when the driver enters the vehicle and that humidity control is managed to reduce dry-eye discomfort.
Acoustic measures include extensive front-to-rear sound insulation, elastomer decoupling mounts between the suspension and body, a revised electric motor design, and noise-insulating laminated safety glass on the front windows as standard equipment.
Executive Quote
“With the all-new electric C-Class, we’ve raised everything customers love about this model to the next level. The result is a new benchmark for quality, craftsmanship and comfort. It is the most spacious and most intelligent C-Class ever,” said Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management, Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
Context and Market Position
The electric C-Class will be built in Kecskemét, Hungary, with production reported to begin in the second quarter of 2026. European deliveries are expected first, with a U.S. launch reported for early 2027. Analyst coverage has positioned the model against the forthcoming BMW i3 sedan, Tesla Model 3, Polestar 2 and Audi A4 e-tron, though Mercedes-Benz has not disclosed range, pricing or powertrain figures in this release.
The reveal is part of the brand’s “140 Years of Innovation” anniversary program, which includes three new S-Class sedans touring 140 global locations through October 2026. Mercedes-Benz has previewed related EV launches this year, including the all-electric VLE grand limousine premiere in March.
