ENAPI, a Berlin-based startup revolutionizing connectivity in the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry, has raised €7.5 million in Seed funding led by Voyager Ventures. This round follows a €2.5 million pre-seed raise just 10 months ago, bringing ENAPI’s total funding to €10 million. The funds will accelerate ENAPI’s growth as a clearing house for EV charging, enabling seamless transactions between charge point operators (CPOs) and eMobility Service Providers (eMSPs) to improve efficiency and the driver experience.

Key Highlights

  • Funding Milestone: Total funding now stands at €10 million, following a €2.5M pre-seed raise.
  • Key Investors: Led by Voyager Ventures, with participation from Project A, Seedcamp, and Helloworld VC.
  • Impressive Growth: Over 350,000 charge points onboarded and partnerships with 8 of Europe’s 10 largest eMSPs within six months.
  • Enhanced Driver Experience: Improved data quality eliminates poor information about charger reliability, addressing one of the key barriers to EV adoption.
  • Global Expansion Plans: Funds will be used to expand in Europe and the US, enhance transaction infrastructure, and grow the technical team.

Transforming the EV Charging Landscape

ENAPI’s platform simplifies the communication of transaction data between CPOs and eMSPs, reducing inefficiencies in the current infrastructure. By streamlining this process, ENAPI enables a seamless, cost-effective experience for all stakeholders. This addresses a critical pain point in the industry, as 70% of EV drivers are dissatisfied with public charging infrastructure, according to McKinsey.

The platform offers CPOs full control, flexibility, and zero transaction costs, improving operational efficiency. ENAPI aims to make EV charging transactions seamless, efficient, and accessible, according to CEO Jakob Kleihues.

Future Outlook

ENAPI plans to scale its secure transaction infrastructure, expand its global presence, and enhance its team with top technical talent. Sierra Peterson, Founding Partner at Voyager Ventures, and Philipp Werner, Partner at Project A, have joined ENAPI’s Board, underscoring the company’s growing influence in the sector.

ENAPI’s innovative approach to EV charging connectivity positions it as a leader in tackling the fragmentation of the EV charging ecosystem and supporting the global transition to electrified mobility.
