Free2move Charge has introduced Charge Go, a new service designed to simplify electric vehicle (EV) public charging across Europe. Offering access to over 800,000 charging points in 29 countries, the Charge Go service allows users to locate, initiate, and pay for charging sessions with just three clicks using the Free2move Charge App. With flexible payment options and an intuitive interface, Charge Go aims to make EV charging more accessible and efficient for drivers.

Key Highlights

  • Extensive Coverage: Access to over 800,000 charging points across 29 European countries.
  • User-Friendly App: The Free2move Charge App enables charging in just three clicks.
  • Flexible Payment Options: Choose between pay-as-you-go or subscription plans.
  • Charging Pass Card: RFID-enabled card for effortless charging when connectivity is limited.
  • Interactive Map and Real-Time Information: Locate charging stations and view status, power capacity, and pricing.

Free2move Charge Go is part of Stellantis’ 360-degree ecosystem, designed to deliver seamless charging and energy management solutions. Powered by tech partner Free2move eSolutions, the service provides drivers with a simple and accessible public charging experience. The extensive network includes both AC charging stations (up to 22 kW) and DC fast-charging stations ranging from 50 kW to 350 kW.

The Free2move Charge App, available for free on Google Play and the Apple Store, offers features such as an interactive map to help drivers locate charging stations. Users can view the number of available connectors, real-time status, power output, and additional details. The app also allows drivers to filter stations by proximity and save preferred locations in a “Favorites” list.

To enhance convenience, the service offers the Charging Pass card equipped with RFID technology. This allows users to start a charging session by simply swiping the card at the station, which is particularly useful when cellular connectivity is weak or the user’s phone battery is low.

Payment options are flexible, catering to different charging habits. The Pay as you move Beginner plan allows for no upfront commitment, charging a session fee of €0.90 plus the cost of electricity. For more frequent users, the Pay as you move Advanced plan is priced at €4.99 per month plus the cost of electricity, without any session fees.

Additional features of the app include transparent pricing summaries before each charging session, providing a breakdown of session fees and any additional costs or discounts from preferred partners. Drivers can also review their charging sessions through the app’s history feature, making it easy to track usage and payments. In the “My Vehicles” section, users can add vehicle details, including connector preferences and charging capacity, to receive tailored charging station suggestions.

The Free2move Charge App is available to all customers of Stellantis brands, including Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat/Abarth, Jeep®, Lancia, Leapmotor, Opel, Peugeot, and Pro One.

Mathilde Lheureux, CEO of Free2move Charge, said, “With the launch of Free2move Charge Go, we are empowering EV drivers to travel freely across Europe, with peace of mind experience. By giving our customers access to an extensive charging network, combined with intuitive tools that simplify their experience, we are removing the key hurdles to adopting electric mobility. Free2move Charge Go marks a significant step forward in our mission to make EV charging seamless, accessible, and tailored to the individual needs of every driver.”

Aligning with Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, Free2move Charge plays a pivotal role in accelerating the transition to electric mobility. The initiative supports Stellantis’ ambitious goal of reaching a 100% passenger car battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales mix in Europe and a 50% passenger car and light-duty truck BEV sales mix in the United States by 2030. By expanding charging infrastructure and delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions like Charge Go, Free2move Charge is actively removing key barriers to electric vehicle adoption.
