EVE Energy has introduced the Omnicell 6C, an innovative fast-charging lithium-ion battery designed for high-end passenger vehicles. This cutting-edge battery, launched in June, can achieve a 300-kilometer driving range with just five minutes of charging. It also offers superior performance in low-temperature environments and boasts a sustainable life cycle, setting new standards in battery technology.
Key Highlights:
- Fast-Charging Capability: Charges from 10% to 80% in just nine minutes at 25°C, enabling a 300-kilometer driving range after only five minutes of charging.
- Low-Temperature Performance: Capable of charging from 10% to 80% in 25 minutes at -30°C.
- Sustainable Design: Features high residual value and a cylindrical design that facilitates recycling, using 100% green electricity in its production process.
- Innovative Heat Management: Incorporates a three-sided heat dissipation design, improving heat exchange efficiency by 270% during fast charging.
Johnson Feng, product director at EVE Energy Battery System Research Institute, shared technical insights into the Omnicell battery. He emphasized the challenges of reducing internal resistance while enhancing cooling efficiency to ensure optimal battery performance. “Speeding up the heat exchange while maintaining a low internal battery resistance ensures the battery runs at an optimal temperature,” said Feng.
The Omnicell’s technical advancements include a 20% reduction in internal resistance and a significant increase in heat exchange efficiency, resulting in improved charging times and battery longevity. EVE Energy also highlights the battery’s sustainable features, such as using NCM materials that offer a 10% higher residual value than lithium iron phosphate batteries.
In addition to the Omnicell 6C, EVE Energy is advancing its development of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) batteries and solid-state batteries, aiming to launch high-power, environmentally tolerant, and safe all-solid-state batteries by 2026, with further enhancements planned for 2028.
Founded in 2001, EVE Energy is a global leader in lithium battery technology, with a focus on consumer batteries, power batteries, and energy storage solutions.
