American Textile Maintenance, the parent company of Republic Master Chefs and Medico Professional Linen Service, has committed to purchasing 12 CircularEV™ Class 5 electric trucks from Evolectric following a successful 8-day pilot at its South-Central Los Angeles facility. The pilot demonstrated significant cost savings and operational efficiencies, prompting the company to adopt Evolectric’s innovative retrofit solution for its first electric fleet deployment.
Key Highlights:
- 64% reduction in operating costs due to lower energy use and minimal maintenance
- $80,000 savings per vehicle, totaling $1 million for the 12-truck fleet
- First electric fleet for American Textile, with Evolectric outpacing delayed competitors
- Seven 50kW fast chargers installed with Chargie and LADWP support
- CircularEV™ cuts capital costs by up to 45% versus new EVs
The CircularEV™ technology converts existing trucks into electric vehicles, slashing operating costs by 64% through reduced energy consumption and maintenance needs. Compared to buying new electric trucks, this approach saves American Textile nearly $80,000 per vehicle, equating to approximately $1 million across the fleet. This financial advantage, paired with environmental benefits, drove the company’s decision after the pilot.
Previously, American Textile ordered electric trucks from other manufacturers in 2022 but faced delays, with no deliveries to date. Evolectric, however, delivered its first CircularEV™ truck ahead of schedule, marking American Textile’s entry into electric fleets. The remaining units will arrive within eight weeks.
Brad Shames, President of American Textile Maintenance, stated, “Adding electric vehicles enhances our commitment to sustainability and service excellence, helping us better serve Los Angeles and beyond.” To support this shift, the company partnered with Chargie and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to install seven 50kW fast chargers, ensuring reliable fleet operations.
Evolectric’s CircularEV™ reduces capital expenditures by up to 45%, offering a cost-effective path to electrification. The company scales through a network of service centers, upfitters, and dealers, ensuring efficient deployment.
