Jiuzi Holdings expects to deliver more than 100 electric heavy-duty trucks to Vietnam. The Hangzhou-based company said it completed negotiations with logistics firms, industrial park operators, and urban delivery providers across multiple Vietnamese economic regions. The orders represent Jiuzi’s first large-scale commercial EV push into Southeast Asia.
Highlights
- Jiuzi reached cooperation agreements with multiple Vietnamese customers for an initial batch of over 100 electric heavy-duty trucks.
- The trucks are custom-developed for Southeast Asian conditions, with tropical climate tuning for battery thermal management and vehicle sealing.
- Target applications include port logistics, industrial park transfers, urban distribution, and construction transport.
- Jiuzi plans to expand into Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia following the Vietnam rollout.
Truck Specifications
The electric heavy-duty trucks were designed specifically for the Southeast Asian market. Jiuzi outlined four key areas of optimization:
- Power and range: High-energy-density battery packs with fast-charging support, designed to meet daily regional logistics requirements.
- Load capacity: Reinforced vehicle structure for heavy-duty transport with lightweight design elements.
- Fleet management: Integrated telematics system supporting remote monitoring, driver behavior analysis, energy optimization, and maintenance alerts.
- Climate adaptation: Battery thermal management, HVAC, and sealing systems tuned for high-temperature, high-humidity tropical conditions.
The company did not disclose specific range figures, battery capacity, or pricing.
Vietnam Market Strategy
Jiuzi identified Vietnam as a strategic entry point for the broader Southeast Asian electric commercial vehicle market. The country’s growing infrastructure investment and expanding policy support for green transportation create demand for zero-emission logistics vehicles, according to the company.
Negotiations covered customers in logistics transportation, industrial park operations, and urban delivery services. Jiuzi said the discussions spanned multiple rounds of technical exchanges before agreements were reached.
Regional Expansion Plans
Jiuzi plans to establish sales and after-sales service networks in key Vietnamese cities. The company said it will partner with local firms to support electric truck adoption.
Beyond Vietnam, Jiuzi is advancing discussions with potential customers in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. The company described these markets as opportunities for regional replication of its Vietnam model.
