The all-new Fiat 500e has been crowned the 2024 Urban Green Car of the Year by Green Car Journal, marking a significant milestone as Stellantis’ first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) offering in North America. This prestigious award underscores the vehicle’s blend of efficiency, affordability, and stylish, zero-emission driving. The Fiat 500e, renowned for its compact design and Italian flair, is celebrated for its suitability for urban environments, offering easy maneuverability and parking in tight spaces.
Ron Cogan, Editor and Publisher of Green Car Journal, praised the Fiat 500e’s appeal: “FIAT’s new 500e is innately appealing with its compact form, Italian fashion sense, and zero emission driving.” This recognition highlights the 500e’s significance in promoting sustainable mobility and its impact on urban living.

The 500e is powered by a 42-kWh lithium-ion battery, ensuring a combined electric range of 149 miles, and comes equipped with a Level 2 charging solution, enhancing its convenience for city dwellers. Notably, the vehicle stands out as the lightest passenger BEV in its segment, weighing just over 3,000 pounds. The Fiat 500e is not only the most awarded FIAT model but also sets a new standard in electric vehicle affordability and design, with a starting price of $32,500. Additionally, lease customers can benefit from a $7,500 federal EV tax credit, making it an even more attractive option.
Designed for the modern urban commuter, the Fiat 500e showcases an all-electric take on FIAT’s iconic model. Its dedicated BEV platform offers increased interior space and storage, maintaining the brand’s commitment to quality design and accessibility. Aamir Ahmed, head of FIAT North America – Stellantis, emphasized the vehicle’s role in democratizing transportation, aligning with FIAT’s historic mission.
The Fiat 500e’s launch in North American showrooms is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, with orders already being accepted online. This launch is part of the FIAT brand’s celebration of 125 years in the automotive industry, continuing its tradition of offering iconic Italian design, refinement, and a fun driving experience. As the first Stellantis retail battery-electric vehicle offering in North America and the best-selling city EV in Europe, the Fiat 500e represents a new chapter for FIAT and Stellantis in embracing electrification and sustainable mobility solutions.
