Ford Performance has unveiled its F-150 Lightning SuperTruck EV demonstrator in camouflage ahead of rigorous testing next week. This impressive vehicle will make its return to the renowned Pikes Peak, driven by Romain Dumas, the current Pikes Peak International Hill Climb record holder, on June 23, 2024.

- Inspired by the F-150 Lightning, the EV demonstrator was developed in collaboration with STARD.
- Features aerodynamic enhancements aimed at achieving 6,000 lbs of downforce at 150 mph, crucial for its performance at Pikes Peak.

- The EV demonstrator program significantly advances electric powertrain research and development.
- Insights from the Pikes Peak program will enhance software calibration and battery cell chemistry for both production vehicles and future race programs.
- Previous Pikes Peak Achievements:
- In 2023, Ford’s Electric SuperVan 4.2 set a new Open Class record at Pikes Peak with a time of 8:47.682 over the 20 km course.
- F-150 Lightning Demonstrators:
- The F-150 Lightning SuperTruck follows Switchgear, a high-performance on- and off-road demonstrator developed with RTR.
- Revealed in January 2024, the Switchgear is based on the production Lightning platform, featuring a bolstered suspension, carbon composite panels, and skid plates to push the boundaries of electric vehicles.
