Award Recognition and Methodology

U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Hybrid and Electric Car Awards evaluate vehicles across multiple electrified segments. The methodology combines each vehicle’s overall score in the U.S. News Best Car Rankings with EPA range and energy consumption data, pricing, and consensus opinion from the automotive press, including hands-on testing by U.S. News editors. For 2026, the awards expanded into additional size and price classes to differentiate vehicles within competitive categories.

“The GV60 is efficient, charges quickly and provides plenty of performance in whisper-quiet silence,” said Alex Kwanten, Managing Editor of Autos at U.S. News. “But it’s the blending of those excellent EV traits with daring design and an opulent interior that makes it a winner. Luxury vehicles should feel special and sophisticated, and the GV60 really does.”

Tedros Mengiste, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, said the recognition reflects the brand’s focus on EVs that balance efficiency, innovation, and design. “GV60 seamlessly integrates distinctive design, intuitive technology and fun to drive characteristics,” Mengiste said.

Powertrain and Charging Architecture

The 2026 GV60 is built on the Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), shared across the company’s dedicated EV lineup. The model carries an 84.0 kWh long-range battery paired with 800-volt architecture, delivering an EPA-estimated range of up to 306 miles.

Charging is handled through a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, providing direct access to ultra-fast chargers on the Tesla Supercharger network and other NACS-equipped infrastructure. Genesis reports a 10% to 80% charge time of approximately 18 minutes on a 350 kW DC fast charger.

The GV60 is part of a broader Genesis EV portfolio that also includes the high-performance GV60 Magma, which entered final validation testing in late 2025.

Exterior and Interior Updates

The 2026 model carries a refined three-dimensional front grille and bumper, with updated alloy wheel designs available in 20-inch and 21-inch sizes. Two-Line Multi-Lens Array (MLA) LED headlamps and the exclusive Tromso Green exterior paint remain signature visual elements. Available Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview adjusts damping automatically to reduce pothole and speed bump impact, and five driving modes adapt powertrain response to driver preference.

Inside, the GV60 features a 27-inch OLED instrument cluster and navigation display with customizable split-screen views. Available Active Noise Control uses inverted sound waves to counter cabin noise. The model also retains its Crystal Sphere shifter, which rotates to reveal the drive selector and communicates vehicle status through ambient light and haptics.

Market Positioning

The 2026 Genesis GV60 carries a starting MSRP of $52,525 and is currently available at Genesis retailers. The U.S. News award follows previous recognition for the model, including the J.D. Power 2023 U.S. APEAL Study top ranking for the small premium SUV segment.
