The 24,584-square-foot studio integrates into GM’s global design framework, alongside facilities in Detroit, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Seoul. It serves to explore European market trends and infuse fresh talent into the company’s creative pipeline. Equipped for digital and physical clay modeling, the studio fosters innovation in automotive design.
The Corvette concept, an experimental project, reimagines the iconic brand with a forward-looking approach. Inspired by aviation, it features the “Apex Vision”—a structural spine offering a panoramic view, echoing the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray’s split window. The design merges classic Corvette cues with modern elements, embedding EV battery technology and optimizing aerodynamics for efficiency.
Additionally, the studio previewed a GMC concept vehicle, developed with Detroit’s team, set for a full reveal in 2025. Michael Simcoe, Senior VP of Global Design, underscored the role of such studios in envisioning future mobility, blending Corvette heritage with innovative twists. Julian Thomson highlighted the concept’s unique blend of form and function.
GM’s investment reflects its dedication to Europe, enhancing its electric vehicle strategy and market expansion.
