Greenlane unveils a new technology suite and advanced charging solutions to streamline commercial electric vehicle (EV) fleet operations. The company’s offerings include the Greenlane Driver™ App, Greenlane Fleet™ Portal, and Greenlane OnRamp™ APIs, alongside high-performance chargers. These tools aim to simplify fleet management, enhance driver experience, and support sustainable freight transport. A revamped website also improves access to Greenlane’s charging solutions.
Key Highlights
- Tech Ecosystem: Tools like the Greenlane Driver™ App and Fleet™ Portal help drivers and managers plan routes and charging efficiently.
- Advanced Chargers: Features ultra-efficient 400 kW chargers with oil-cooled cables and smart energy management.
- Sustainability Focus: Future plans include solar panels and battery storage at charging sites.
Greenlane, a leader in public EV charging infrastructure, launched these innovations as part of its I-15 Commercial EV Charging Corridor project. The phased rollout ensures quick delivery of solutions tailored for commercial fleets. “As heavy-duty transportation continues to electrify, we need to address fleet manager and driver pain points,” said Patrick Macdonald-King, CEO of Greenlane. The company’s APIs enable integration with existing systems, paving the way for a smoother shift to electric freight travel.
The Greenlane Driver™ App offers real-time charger availability and reservation options, while the Fleet™ Portal centralizes route planning and truck management. The OnRamp™ APIs connect with fleet tools, providing data on emissions savings and charging schedules. Meanwhile, the updated website showcases these offerings, enhancing customer experience.
On the hardware side, Greenlane’s chargers include 400 kW Alpitronic dual-port units and 180 kW eFill chargers, designed for speed and ease of use. Remote monitoring via ABB’s SCADA system ensures reliability, and scalable designs support future megawatt charging. “With the rising demand for sustainable transportation, we recognize the need to support fleet customers through seamless charging solutions,” said Raj Jhaveri, Chief Technology Officer.
The flagship site in Colton, Calif., set to open in April 2025, will feature over 40 chargers and is built by Mortenson. Later phases will add solar and battery storage, boosting efficiency and grid stability. Greenlane, a joint venture between Daimler Truck North America, NextEra Energy Resources, and BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners, continues to lead in zero-emission infrastructure for commercial EVs.
