RIZON has introduced a new service combo body for its all-electric commercial trucks, an upfit that qualifies for California and Washington point-of-sale vouchers worth up to $130,000. The configuration pairs lockable tool storage with a cargo bed on a single zero-emission chassis, and it supports cranes, ladder racks, generators, lift gates, and work lighting. The body is available on RIZON’s Class 4-5 medium-duty trucks, which the company reports offer up to 160 miles of range and support both DC fast charging and Level 2 AC charging.
Highlights
- Combines lockable storage compartments with a cargo bed on a single zero-emission chassis.
- Supports cranes, ladder racks, generators, lift gates, and work lighting for vocational fleets.
- Qualifies for HVIP and WAZIP vouchers worth $60,000 to $130,000, depending on program and eligibility.
- RIZON’s Class 4-5 trucks offer up to 160 miles of range with dual DC fast and Level 2 AC charging.
Configuration and Vocational Use
The combo body is built to give fleets tool security and open cargo space in one unit rather than forcing a choice between a service body and a flatbed. RIZON says the configuration is designed to accept add-on equipment — cranes, ladder racks, generators, lift gates, and work lighting — without cutting into payload.
“Commercial vehicle customers have been asking for an electric truck that doesn’t require them to change how they work,” said Alex Voets, general manager of RIZON USA. “This new combo body delivers the familiar functionality fleets rely on, now on a zero-emission RIZON chassis.”
California and Washington State Incentives
RIZON trucks currently qualify for California’s Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) and Washington’s Zero-Emission Incentive Program (WAZIP). Both programs provide eligible purchasers with point-of-sale vouchers ranging from $60,000 to $130,000, depending on program and eligibility.
Specifications and Charging
RIZON’s class 4-5 medium-duty battery-electric trucks range from 15,995 to 18,850 lbs. in gross vehicle weight. The company reports the following range figures under standard testing conditions with 50% payload:
| Variant | Battery Packs | Range |
|---|---|---|
| M | 2 | Up to 110 miles (177 km) |
| L | 3 | Up to 160 miles (257 km) |
RIZON trucks support two charging types: DC Fast Charging via a CCS1 connector and Level 2 AC Charging via a J1772 connector, giving fleet operators flexibility based on existing infrastructure.
OEM Backing and Warranty
RIZON says its trucks are manufactured by a global OEM with decades of commercial vehicle experience and more than 5 million miles of electric driving experience. The company describes its warranty coverage as segment-leading and includes proprietary RIZONCONNECT connectivity services, an integrated active safety system, and flexible financing options.
Expanding U.S. and Canadian Footprint
RIZON was first introduced to the public at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Anaheim, California, in May 2023, and the trucks are now operating on roads across Canada and the United States.
