GreenPower: Electric BEAST Bus Arrives in Phoenix

GreenPower Motor Company Inc., a prominent player in the electric vehicle sector, recently achieved a milestone by delivering its first BEAST school bus in Arizona to the Phoenix Elementary School District in Arizona. This marks a significant step for GreenPower in expanding its footprint in the all-electric vehicle industry, particularly in the school bus sector. The BEAST, standing as a testament to GreenPower’s commitment to sustainable and safe student transportation, sets a new standard for school buses across the nation.

Key Highlights:

  • First BEAST Bus Delivery in Arizona: GreenPower has made its debut in the Arizona market with the delivery of the BEAST to the Phoenix Elementary School District.
  • Designed for Safety and Sustainability: The BEAST is an all-electric, zero-emission school bus, highlighting GreenPower’s dedication to environmental stewardship and student safety.
  • Comprehensive Features: With a unified structure, aluminum body, high strength steel chassis, and advanced charging options, the BEAST is engineered for efficiency and durability.
  • Community Impact: The introduction of the BEAST to Phoenix schools is expected to significantly reduce students’ exposure to air pollution, aligning with the district’s goals for a healthier environment.

“We are pleased that the Phoenix Elementary School District has selected a GreenPower purpose-built school bus to help the school district transition its fleet to safe, sustainable and sensible all-electric student transportation,” said Brendan Riley, President of GreenPower. The delivery of the BEAST underscores GreenPower’s role in pushing the envelope for eco-friendly school transportation solutions.

The Phoenix Elementary School District, serving a diverse body of approximately 5,000 students across 15 schools, has embraced the BEAST as a major step forward in its commitment to providing safe and sustainable transportation. “Children are more susceptible to air pollution due to their developing respiratory systems and all-electric school buses reduce exposure to NOx produced by traditional buses which can adversely affect student’s health and academic performance,” remarked Dr. Deborah Gonzalez, Superintendent of the District.

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration with RWC Group, GreenPower’s authorized school bus dealer, ensuring that the district’s investment in all-electric buses aligns with its vision for a safer and more environmentally friendly transportation mode for its students. “RWC is committed to serving the state of Arizona, providing a selection of the highest quality all-electric school buses and we are thrilled that Phoenix Elementary School District chose us and GreenPower to help fulfill their sustainable transportation needs,” said Tom Hartman, General Manager of the Bus Division at RWC.

The introduction of the BEAST in Phoenix is not only a milestone for GreenPower but also a beacon for other school districts aiming to transition to greener, more sustainable transportation solutions. As GreenPower continues to innovate and expand its offerings, the future of school transportation looks promisingly electric.
