GreenPower Motor Company Inc., a leading manufacturer of zero-emission, all-electric vehicles, has shipped eight EV Star Passenger Vans to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. These vehicles are intended for on-campus student transportation, with an additional two vans set for delivery later this quarter. This shipment builds upon the University’s existing fleet, which already includes five GreenPower EV vans in operation for almost two years.

Washington University has been operating a fleet of five EV Star Passenger Vans for nearly two years, providing students with safe and environmentally friendly transportation on campus. With this follow-on order of ten more vans, the university aims to further enhance its commitment to sustainable and healthy transit solutions. “We are excited to be deploying this follow-on order to Washington University,” said Claus Tritt, GreenPower’s Vice President of Medium-Duty and Commercial Sales. “The addition of 10 more all-electric, purpose-built, zero-emission GreenPower vehicles will allow the University to provide safe, sustainable and healthy transportation for its students, faculty, staff, and visitors.”
GreenPower continues to make substantial strides in its delivery schedule this quarter. In addition to the eight vehicles shipped to Washington University, the company has also delivered nine Type D BEAST school buses, one Type A Nano BEAST, and two EV Star Passenger Vans equipped with rear ADA lifts and wheelchair securements. GreenPower’s CEO Fraser Atkinson noted, “The deliveries since October 1st have almost surpassed the total number of vehicles delivered in the last quarter. We expect to continue deliveries through to the end of the calendar year, finishing 2024 strong.”
The EV Star Passenger Vans delivered to Washington University are designed to provide versatile, zero-emission transportation. These vehicles offer a range of up to 150 miles and come equipped with dual charging capabilities. Notable features include an electric bus door for easy accessibility, rear BraunAbility ADA lifts, and Q’STRAINT wheelchair securement positions to ensure inclusivity. Additionally, each van has an optional bike rack on the front, offering further mobility options for students, promoting a greener and more convenient transport system.
