GreenPower Motor Company Inc., a leader in manufacturing purpose-built, all-electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles, has announced three separate orders for 11 of its Type D BEAST school buses. The zero-emission buses will serve school districts in Arizona, California, and Oregon, further expanding GreenPower’s presence in the Western U.S. markets.
Key Highlights:
- California: Seven BEAST buses ordered by Model 1, GreenPower’s exclusive California dealer, for the Los Banos Unified School District.
- Arizona: Two BEAST buses purchased by RWC Group, GreenPower’s exclusive Arizona dealer, for the Casa Grande Elementary School District.
- Oregon: Two BEAST buses secured by Peterson Trucks, GreenPower’s exclusive Oregon dealer, for the Hood River County School District.
The BEAST is a 40-foot, Type D all-electric school bus, purpose-built from the ground up as an EV. Designed for optimal safety and efficiency, it features a corrosion-resistant aluminum body, a high-strength steel chassis, and a flat floor design for flexible seating arrangements. The bus seats up to 90 students and prioritizes safety with a high floor to keep students out of the impact zone. Charging options include Level 2 charging up to 19.2 kW and DC Fast Charging rates of up to 85 kW, enabling full charging in under three hours.
