United Chargers has introduced a groundbreaking feature for its Grizzl-E EV chargers, becoming the first in the industry to provide multi-app compatibility. Customers of the popular Grizzl-E Ultimate and Grizzl-E Mini chargers now have the option to choose between the native Grizzl-E Connect app and the newly integrated Epic Charging app, offering greater flexibility and control over their charging experience. This innovation marks a significant step forward in enhancing residential EV charging capabilities.

Key Highlights:

  • First-of-its-kind integration: Grizzl-E chargers now support multiple smart charging apps, including Epic Charging, alongside their native app.
  • Enhanced user choice: EV owners gain flexibility to select the app that best suits their needs without being locked into one software solution.
  • OCPP protocol compatibility: Grizzl-E chargers use the Open Charge Point Protocol, ensuring interoperability with future software integrations.
  • Upcoming developments: Additional software partnerships are planned for release in 2025.

United Chargers, a Canadian EVSE manufacturer, is recognized for its durable and affordable Grizzl-E Level 2 chargers. Its latest innovation leverages Wi-Fi connectivity and the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) to deliver seamless compatibility with third-party applications. The Grizzl-E Ultimate 48A, Ultimate 80A, and Mini Connect models are now equipped to support the Epic Charging app, a free application designed to enhance residential charging convenience.

Gleb Nikiforov, CEO of United Chargers, highlighted the significance of this innovation:

“The ability to connect your home chargers not only to one app provided by the manufacturer but to a variety of different applications from different software development companies opens up never-seen-before freedom to EVSE owners to solely select software which corresponds best to their needs. It also provides full assurance about hardware interoperability. This is epic for the EV revolution, and we at United Chargers are proud to introduce Epic home-charging software to be the first third-party app natively available on our connected EVSE.”

Michael Bakunin, CEO of Epic Charging, emphasized the collaboration’s potential:

“This industry-leading collaboration allows both companies to demonstrate our commitment to delivering an Epic customer experience that includes reliable and affordable charging hardware that is future-proof. The Epic Home app is free for residential customers and will be a key foundational application for take-home fleet applications and electric utilities to launch large-scale demand response programs.”
