Awaze, Europe’s largest vacation rental group, has named Ohme its official home EV charging partner, after finding that rental homes with a charger drew 16% more bookings and 39% greater revenue in 2025 than those without one. Under the agreement, Ohme — which describes itself as the UK’s largest home EV charging company — will give Awaze homeowners a complimentary charger when they sign a new contract, a benefit pitched at both property owners and the guests who rent from them. The deal covers Awaze brands including Cottages.com and Hoseasons, which together list more than 20,000 properties across the UK.
Highlights
- Vacation homes offering EV charger access saw 16% more bookings and 39% greater revenue in 2025 than comparable properties without one, according to Awaze.
- Awaze homeowners receive a complimentary Ohme charger when they enter a new contract.
- UK EV new-car sales have risen 24.3% compared with 2025, while the number of Awaze properties offering EV charging points has more than doubled since 2022.
- Ohme serves Awaze’s portfolio of more than 20,000 UK rental properties, spanning brands such as Cottages.com and Hoseasons.
Cheaper Charging Than Public Networks
Home charging remains the most affordable way to power an EV, and the partnership carries that advantage into vacation stays. Ohme says guests at charger-equipped properties can reach lower electricity rates than public networks, which the company describes as often more expensive — extending a home-charging cost advantage it has detailed previously. For owners, the benefit runs the other way: homes with a charger posted stronger bookings and revenue over the past year.
What the Partnership Offers
Awaze homeowners who agree to a new contract receive a complimentary Ohme charger, which the companies say benefits owners and guests alike.
“This partnership with Ohme is a fantastic opportunity to add even greater appeal to our owners’ properties while giving more value and convenience to guests choosing an EV-friendly holiday,” said Matthew Price, Awaze CEO. “Awaze offers more than 20,000 properties to holiday-goers in the UK via our Cottages.com and Hoseasons brands and collaborating with Ohme will be beneficial to both owners and add to the experience of any EV drivers staying.”
Rising EV Demand Across the UK
Ohme’s Peter McDonald said home charging will always be the cheapest place for drivers to charge, and that the Awaze collaboration will let more EV owners access lower-cost charging on vacation rather than relying on pricier public networks. He added that charger-equipped homes are already drawing more bookings and revenue, and that demand for EV charging will keep climbing as ownership grows.
The market backdrop supports that view. UK EV new-car sales have risen 24.3% compared with 2025, and Awaze has seen its tally of properties offering EV charging points more than double since 2022. Ohme is the official charger provider for Mercedes-Benz, Volvo Cars and the Volkswagen Group across the UK and Ireland, along with Genesis, Hyundai, Smart, Suzuki and XPeng in the UK. The company is also the exclusive charger provider for the Motability scheme — the UK’s largest fleet operator — as well as for Ford in Ireland and Hyundai in France.
