Gyre9, a leading product design and development firm, has announced the formation of a new company, G9EV, dedicated to designing, engineering, and manufacturing electric vehicle (EV) chargers and accessories. The new entity is set to begin operations by the end of the month, utilizing the existing Gyre9 facilities in Southbury, Conn, according to Ed Gilchrest, President of Gyre9.

Gilchrest elaborates, “This company is formed by myself and Frank von Holzhausen, and we both have been developing and manufacturing Level 2 charging stations (EVSEs) for almost five years. We have a wealth of experience in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of thousands of units already installed around the country.
“Having done this for several companies, we feel it’s time for us to make our own products and bring them to the market. Our focus is on building tough, reliable products that are easy to install and maintain – something that has been missing from many of our competitors.”
Gilchrest concludes, “We make all of our offerings here in Connecticut with a highly skilled workforce backed by world-class designers and engineers to keep our product current and trouble-free.
