Gyre9 Launches EV Charger Company

Gyre9, a leading product design and development firm, has announced the formation of a new company, G9EV, dedicated to designing, engineering, and manufacturing electric vehicle (EV) chargers and accessories. The new entity is set to begin operations by the end of the month, utilizing the existing Gyre9 facilities in Southbury, Conn, according to Ed Gilchrest, President of Gyre9.

Key Highlights:

  • Formation of G9EV: A new company focusing on EV chargers and accessories.
  • Operations Start: G9EV will commence operations at the end of the month.
  • Experienced Leadership: Founded by Ed Gilchrest and Frank von Holzhausen, who bring nearly five years of experience in developing and manufacturing Level 2 EV charging stations.
  • Product Focus: Emphasis on creating durable, reliable, and easy-to-install products.
  • Local Manufacturing: All products will be manufactured in Connecticut with a skilled workforce and top-notch designers and engineers.

Gilchrest elaborates, “This company is formed by myself and Frank von Holzhausen, and we both have been developing and manufacturing Level 2 charging stations (EVSEs) for almost five years. We have a wealth of experience in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of thousands of units already installed around the country.

“Having done this for several companies, we feel it’s time for us to make our own products and bring them to the market. Our focus is on building tough, reliable products that are easy to install and maintain – something that has been missing from many of our competitors.”

Gilchrest concludes, “We make all of our offerings here in Connecticut with a highly skilled workforce backed by world-class designers and engineers to keep our product current and trouble-free. Our experienced sales force will guide our customers through the purchase process and ensure they are completely satisfied.”
