Hyundai has expanded charging options for its electric vehicle (EV) owners by providing access to over 20,000 Tesla Superchargers across the United States through a NACS (North American Charging Standard) adapter. This development nearly doubles the DC fast-charging stations available to Hyundai EV owners, enhancing convenience and supporting the transition to electric mobility. Eligible owners can claim a free adapter, while new Hyundai EVs, starting with the 2025 IONIQ 5, will feature native NACS ports, eliminating the need for adapters in the future.

Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy at Hyundai Motor North America, stated, “Starting today, more Hyundai EV customers will have access to 20,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America, doubling their fast-charging options. This move improves the public charging experience by giving our customers even more choice. It’s a vital part of our commitment to ease America’s transition to electric vehicle ownership.”

  • KONA Electric
  • IONIQ Electric (hatchback)
  • IONIQ 5
  • IONIQ 6
  • 2025 IONIQ 5 N

To claim a free adapter, eligible owners must:

  • Maintain an active MyHyundai.com account and opt into emails.
  • Verify their information via an email from Hyundai starting the week of April 7, 2025.
  • Confirm the adapter offer and terms, then validate or update their shipping address.
