Hyundai Motor Company’s IONIQ 5 N, the inaugural all-electric model from the performance-oriented N line, is entering the last stage of racetrack capability testing at the world-famous Nürburgring circuit. Hyundai’s third and final teaser indicates the end of the development phase and preparation for a global debut set for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The IONIQ 5 N is set to extend Hyundai’s performance trio of Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sportscar to electrified models, unifying the thrill of high-performance vehicles with eco-friendly technology. “The Nürburgring is where every N model is honed to the Nth degree, so our first high-performance, all-electric N model must also prove itself here,” stated Till Wartenberg, Vice President and Head of N Brand & Motorsport at Hyundai Motor Company.
The IONIQ 5 N recently completed a 10,000 km durability test on the Nordschleife, signifying its high endurance and track capability, with a subsequent 10,000 km test underway to push its limits further. These rigorous tests confirm the model’s motorsport-grade hardware, augmented by cutting-edge software to enhance endurance, braking power, and driving pleasure.
Unique features include a regenerative braking system providing primary braking force, supplemented by hydraulic brakes if necessary. The EV also introduces innovative technologies like N Active Sound + and N e-Shift to provide an unprecedented level of driver feedback, addressing the prevalent concern of lack of responsiveness in many existing EVs.
