Hyundai unveiled the 641-hp IONIQ 6 N electric performance sedan and CRATER Concept electric off-road SUV at the 2026 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.

Hyundai Auto Canada unveiled the IONIQ 6 N at the 2026 Canadian International AutoShow (CIAS) on February 12. The electric performance sedan builds on the IONIQ 5 N platform with redesigned suspension, an updated virtual gear shift system, and refined acoustic tuning. The company also displayed its CRATER Concept electric off-road SUV at the Toronto event.

The IONIQ 6 N extends Hyundai’s electric performance lineup with hardware and software developed for sustained high-intensity driving. Key technical updates over the IONIQ 5 N include:

  • Redesigned suspension geometry for improved handling precision
  • Enhanced N e-Shift system with shorter virtual gear ratios
  • Refined N Active Sound+ system with upgraded hardware and acoustic tuning

The model follows Hyundai’s RN22e concept, which was shown at CIAS in 2023.

Michael Ricciuto, director of product and corporate strategy at Hyundai Auto Canada, said the IONIQ 6 N signals Hyundai’s confidence in the N Brand’s growth and the demand for high-performance electric vehicles. He noted that N has become a key part of Hyundai’s brand identity through motorsport-derived engineering and driver-focused design.

The CRATER Concept, a fully electric off-road SUV, appeared at CIAS after its national debut at the Montreal Auto Show. Designed at Hyundai America Technical Center in Irvine, California, the concept targets North American adventure-oriented buyers.

The CRATER uses what Hyundai calls its “Art of Steel Design Language,” featuring:
