Commitment to Innovation and Performance

The annual ‘N Day’ event provides a glimpse into Hyundai N’s relentless innovation in high-performance, motorsport-proven technologies. RN24, as a next-generation Rolling Lab, showcases Hyundai N’s focus on combining cutting-edge power and precise control in a compact, agile package. As the successor to previous Rolling Labs like the RN22e and N Vision 74, RN24 carries forward the legacy of bridging motorsport technology and production models.

RN24 is powered by a 650 PS dual-motor power electronics system derived from the IONIQ 5 N. The compact chassis is inspired by WRC, reflecting Hyundai’s commitment to delivering a lightweight, agile high-performance EV. The redesigned battery pack retains an 84 kWh capacity, allowing the vehicle to maintain a compact footprint comparable to the B-segment Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid WRC competitor.

Advanced Motorsport Technology and Controls

RN24’s suspension setup is equipped with rally-spec dampers and high-rigidity subframes, enhancing agility and responsiveness. The Rolling Lab also features the WRC Powertrain Drive Control Logic, enabling drivers to adjust power settings, acceleration sensitivity, and regenerative braking with ease. The vehicle integrates an external high-output sound system and a rear fender soundbox, creating an immersive experience for enthusiasts.

One of the standout features is the ‘Rally Mode’ motor torque control, which helps optimize torque distribution to all four wheels, mirroring the performance of Hyundai’s WRC vehicles. This technology demonstrates a streamlined approach for future production cars, reducing system complexity and cost.

Additionally, the e-Handbrake technology, tested during the WRC’s Central European Rally, reflects Hyundai N’s history of WRC innovations. It replaces physical brakes for weight reduction, further enhancing vehicle performance. The exposed roll cage and TCR-inspired spoiler underscore the vehicle’s rally DNA, providing both safety and aerodynamic benefits.

Hyundai N’s Vision for High-Performance EVs

RN24 embodies Hyundai N’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of high-performance EVs, focusing on enhancing the driving experience. As Joon Park, Vice President of N Brand Management Group, stated, “This Rolling Lab proves that there remains untapped potential for high-performance EVs and with new technologies ahead, there is much to look forward to.

RN24 represents Hyundai N’s vision of a future where electric motorsport technology advances beyond mere specifications, prioritizing precision, agility, and driving pleasure.
