Pricing and Ordering

The Slate Truck starts at $24,950, with the two SUV body styles — Squareback and Fastback — starting at $29,950. Slate sells direct to consumers, and buyers can order the vehicle as a pickup or an SUV or convert it after purchase. Preorders are open at $300; existing reservation holders who previously paid $50 pay $250. The company reports more than 180,000 reservation holders, with first deliveries expected Q4 2026.

“More than 180,000 reservation holders have told us they’re ready for a vehicle that’s affordable, reliable, and built around their lives,” said Slate CEO Peter Faricy. “Slate gives customers the freedom to buy only what they need today and personalize their vehicle as their needs change tomorrow. We’re excited to start seeing Slates on roads across America later this year.”

Range, Power, and Charging

Slate reports an estimated 205 miles of range for the pickup, a 37% increase over earlier projections. The figure is based on an approximation of the EPA test cycle and is not an official EPA estimate; actual range varies with temperature, driving habits, accessories, and battery conditions. The truck uses a single rear-mounted motor driving the rear wheels, fed by a 65-kWh LFP battery with 63 kWh usable. Output is 181 horsepower (135 kW) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm), with an estimated 0–60 mph time of 8.0 seconds and a 90-mph top speed.

Charging runs through a standard NACS port and an 11-kW onboard charger. On a 120-kW DC fast charger, Slate estimates a 20–80% charge in half an hour; a Level 2 AC charge from 20–100% takes about four hours.
