A Commitment to U.S. Manufacturing and Adventure
The IONIQ 5 XRT is a significant addition to what is already America’s most awarded EV lineup. Assembled in Georgia, the vehicle underscores Hyundai’s growing manufacturing presence in the U.S. “The IONIQ 5 XRT is designed to appeal to customers who want to play in the dirt and have all-electric adventures,” stated Ricky Lao, director of product planning at Hyundai Motor North America. He noted that the company is pleased to receive recognition for the factory-built 2025 IONIQ 5 XRT, which offers both a more rugged appearance and enhanced off-road capability for the popular EV.
Designed for Rugged Performance
Hyundai has expanded the IONIQ 5 lineup to meet customer demand for an off-road-capable model. The XRT boasts a more aggressive front and rear design with unique bumpers, stylish side skirts, and a set of dedicated 18-inch aluminum wheels. These features, combined with the vehicle’s higher ground clearance and tuned suspension, significantly advance its capability in rough terrain.
The interior of the XRT complements its adventurous spirit, creating a dynamic driving environment. The cabin includes durable H-Tex™ seating surfaces with XRT-unique patterning, distinct XRT badging, and a black headliner to complete the immersive experience.
Industry Acclaim
The award from American Cars And Racing highlights the successful evolution of the IONIQ 5 platform. “Hyundai took one of the best compact electric SUVs and broadened its horizons with the IONIQ 5 XRT, which is simply one of the most fun vehicles on sale today at any price,” said Gary Gastelu, executive editor at American Cars And Racing. He praised the vehicle for opening up new possibilities for drivers, adding that it “loves to play in the dirt” without sacrificing the everyday comfort the standard IONIQ 5 is known for.
