The Kia EV4, Kia’s first electric vehicle produced in Europe, sets a new benchmark for safety and convenience in the saloon and C-segment markets. Offering two bodystyles, the EV4 combines cutting-edge technology, practicality, and dynamic driving, with deliveries starting later this year. Equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the EV4 ensures a safer and more seamless driving experience for European customers.
Key Highlights
- Advanced Safety Systems: The EV4 features cameras and radars for real-time hazard detection.
- DriveWise ADAS Pack: Standard on all UK models at no extra cost.
- Convenience Features: Includes Remote Smart Parking Assist and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control.
- European Production: Built in Žilina, Slovakia, tailored for European drivers.
- Over-the-Air Updates: Enables easy feature enhancements without service center visits.
Unmatched Safety Features
The Kia EV4 integrates a comprehensive suite of ADAS to enhance safety. Standard features include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA), and Safe Exit Assist (SEA). These systems work together to prevent and mitigate collisions, ensuring protection for drivers and passengers. Additionally, the DriveWise ADAS Pack, included as standard on all UK variants, enhances safety across all trim levels, including the entry-level ‘Air’ model.
The vehicle’s structure is designed for optimal safety, with a multi-load path in the front battery area and a robust roof capable of supporting over five times the car’s weight. A multi-rib structure in the rocker panel provides enhanced side protection, safeguarding occupants in the event of a collision.
Enhanced Driver Convenience
The EV4 prioritizes driver convenience with intelligent systems like Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Highway Driving Assist (HDA), and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC). NSCC adjusts speed intelligently based on real-time map data, making road travel smoother and reducing driver effort. According to Celina Geller, ADAS Engineer at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center, these features aim to “remove resistance from daily driving.”
Additional convenience features include the Blind Spot View Monitor (BVM), Surround View Monitor (SVM), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA). Drivers can mute ISLA’s audible alerts by holding the steering wheel’s volume dial for three seconds. The Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) allows parking in tight spaces using the key fob or Kia App, with the driver outside the vehicle.

Innovative Technology
The EV4 features a 12-inch Head-up Display (HUD), projecting key information like speed and navigation directly onto the windshield, allowing drivers to stay focused on the road. The Direct Grip Detection System (HOD) ensures the driver maintains control by sensing hand contact with the steering wheel. With over-the-air (OTA) update capability, the EV4 can receive new features and improvements remotely, eliminating the need for service center visits.
Tailored for European Drivers
Manufactured in Žilina, Slovakia, the EV4 underwent rigorous testing to meet European safety regulations. Its performance in high-speed and complex scenarios ensures reliability and safety. Kia also incorporates customer feedback, such as enhancing Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control for more dynamic acceleration to suit European driving preferences.
Available in GT-line and GT-Line S trims, the EV4 offers exclusive design elements and a sporty, GT-inspired character, appealing to a wide range of customers. For more details, visit the Kia Press Office.
