LEPAS Brand Enters UK With Flagship SUV
LEPAS — a name combining “Leopard,” “Leap,” and “Passion” — positions itself as a design-forward new energy brand. The company targets buyers who value craftsmanship, aesthetic integrity, and advanced technology. Its European introduction began in 2025, with the UK representing the next phase of expansion.
The L8 serves as the brand’s flagship model. It features a design language inspired by the contours of a leopard in motion. Additionally, the LED headlights are styled to echo the animal’s eye shape.
Platform and Engineering
The LEPAS L8 rides on Chery International’s all-new NEV modular platform. As a result, it is engineered to balance performance with ride comfort across its five-seat cabin. The architecture integrates advanced in-cabin technology, comprehensive driver assistance systems, and engineering designed to meet global five-star safety standards.
Further product specifications, technology details, and pricing have not yet been disclosed. However, the company has indicated that additional announcements are forthcoming.

Chery International’s Global Momentum
LEPAS benefits from the scale and R&D investment of Chery Holding Group. In 2025, the group achieved several notable milestones:
- Cumulative sales reached 2,806,393 vehicles, a 7.8% year-over-year increase
- NEV sales totaled 903,847 units, up 54.9% year-over-year
- Exports hit 1,344,020 units, a 17.4% increase and a new annual record for a Chinese automaker
- Global customer base surpassed 18.53 million users, including over 5.85 million overseas
Meanwhile, the group climbed 152 places to rank 233rd on the 2025 Fortune Global 500. That made Chery the fastest-rising automotive manufacturer in the global standings.
UK Market Strategy Still Unfolding
LEPAS has confirmed the L8 as the opening chapter of its UK story. However, key operational details remain outstanding. Senior leadership appointments, the route-to-market strategy, and aftermarket support plans will be announced in the coming weeks.
The brand is positioning itself for long-term commitment to the UK market. Future model plans and dealership network expansion details are also expected as the launch date approaches.
