A pivotal construction phase for the new EV battery plant by LG Energy Solution and Honda was celebrated with the placement of the final structural beam on February 29, 2024. This facility, sprawling over 2 million square feet and located near Jeffersonville, Ohio, signifies a major leap towards its completion scheduled for late 2024. With an investment of $4.4 billion and the creation of 2,200 jobs, this joint venture marks a significant step in advancing electric vehicle (EV) technology in North America.

“Today is an important milestone for the LG Energy Solution-Honda team as the structure of the EV battery production facility takes its final shape,” stated Bob Lee, CEO of the joint venture. The construction milestone is a testament to the rapid progress since the groundbreaking a year ago.
Hiring Underway for New Positions The joint venture has commenced hiring for various roles within the plant. Positions in engineering and support have been posted, with technician and production roles to follow. “This is a very exciting moment as we take the first steps to assemble our new team,” said Rick Riggle, COO.
