Maxi-Scooter to Lead Urban Mobility Innovation
LiveWire’s electric maxi-scooter is designed to deliver an electric riding experience that harnesses the convenience of the category while maximizing the performance and range of the S2 powertrain. The collaboration aims to attract new customers interested in electric urban mobility, merging KYMCO’s market experience with LiveWire’s innovation in electric performance. The maxi-scooter will be positioned as a solution for both daily commutes and urban adventures.
This collaboration marks an expansion of the partnership established in 2022, with KYMCO’s significant investment in LiveWire. The companies are leveraging their shared expertise to make this new product a leader in the electric two-wheeled space. Karim Donnez, CEO of LiveWire, highlighted KYMCO’s contribution by saying, “The belief and recognition that we could create a class-leading maxi-scooter using our S2 Arrow powertrain has been a constant, KYMCO sharing their expertise has changed belief into reality, and we are excited to commence on this journey with such a globally recognized leader in the category.”
KYMCO’s Role in Shaping Electric Mobility
KYMCO, a recognized leader in both ICE scooters and smaller output EV scooters, brings a wealth of expertise to the project, strengthening LiveWire’s position in electric mobility. KYMCO’s experience in electric two-wheelers, including projects like RevoNEX, a high-performance all-electric street bike, and Ionex, an advanced swappable battery solution, will provide crucial support to LiveWire’s upcoming maxi-scooter.
KYMCO Chairman Allen Ko added, “LiveWire is an iconic leader in electric solutions for urban mobility. We are excited to partner with them as LiveWire embarks on the development of an S2-based electric maxi-scooter.”
Expanding the S2 Portfolio
This project is an essential step in continuing the development of the S2 portfolio. It will use LiveWire’s S2 Arrow powertrain as the foundation for an all-new, premium electric maxi-scooter. The model is designed to bring benchmark performance and range to the maxi-scooter category while establishing a unique new design for LiveWire’s product lineup. Global distribution is planned, with the launch targeted for the first half of 2026.
