SCPPA, a Joint Powers Authority formed in 1980, comprises 11 municipal utilities and one irrigation district, serving over five million Californians across a 9,000-square-mile area. Its members provide 16% of California’s power, including support for over 800 public and private EV charging stations. As EV adoption grows, SCPPA requires scalable, reliable infrastructure to meet increasing demand.
Lynkwell’s selection followed a competitive request for proposal, highlighting its ability to deliver advanced solutions through its ViaLynk™ network. This platform offers comprehensive services, including:
- Software Subscription: Tools for real-time monitoring and management of charging stations.
- Network Integration: Seamless onboarding of existing and new Level 2 and DC Fast Charging stations.
- Custom Features: Tailored analytics, reporting, and branding for SCPPA members.
- LCFS Reporting: Compliance with California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard regulations.
Lynkwell’s CSMS platform stands out due to its robust feature set, including OCPP 2.0.1 certification for hardware compatibility and enhanced security, integrations with global roaming networks like Hubject and ChargeHub, and unique functionalities such as Dynamic Local Load Management and Plug and Charge. The Lynkwell Upgrade™ solution combines its CSMS, XLynk™ charger, and Universal Pedestal to replace underperforming chargers efficiently.
Will DeRuve, Lynkwell’s vice president of North American sales, emphasized the platform’s flexibility: “Lynkwell’s software provides world-class functionality and adaptability, unlike competitors’ restrictive systems. This makes it ideal for utilities and municipalities like SCPPA, which need scalable solutions to support evolving EV infrastructure.”
