Powertrain and Performance
The 2026 Prelude is powered by Honda’s responsive two-motor hybrid system, which pairs a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle direct-injection gasoline engine with two powerful electric motors. This combination, also found in Honda’s award-winning Civic hybrid models, is engineered for a sporty driving experience with quick acceleration and exceptional fuel efficiency.
A significant innovation is the debut of Honda S+ Shift. This new drive mode enhances driver connection by simulating the experience of a performance transmission. Using paddle shifters, the system provides quick, simulated gearshift responses, including rev-matched downshifts and gear holding to create a more engaging drive. Honda plans to feature S+ Shift on future hybrid models.
Advanced Chassis and Handling
For the first time in a Honda hybrid, the Prelude incorporates high-performance chassis hardware from the legendary Civic Type R. This includes the dual-axis strut front suspension and large Brembo™ four-piston aluminum front brake calipers, finished in a unique Prelude Blue. The standard Adaptive Damper System has been uniquely tuned for the Prelude to balance sporty handling with a comfortable ride.
Drivers can customize their experience using four selectable driving modes: Comfort, GT, Sport, and Individual. These modes adjust powertrain response, steering feel, suspension damping, and engine sound. The Prelude also features an enhanced Agile Handling Assist system, which uses integrated powertrain and brake control to improve handling and driver confidence.

Sophisticated and Muscular Design
The exterior design of the new Prelude presents a sophisticated yet muscular look with advanced aerodynamics. It features a low, sharp nose, a wide stance, and a smooth silhouette. Key design elements include a racy “double-bubble” roof, flared fenders over 19-inch machine-finished Berlina Black wheels, and distinctive wing-like daytime running lights.
Attention to detail is evident in the black chrome grille louver, flush door handles, and blue accents on the front and rear fascias. The vehicle is available in five colors, including the new Winter Frost Pearl. For further customization, an extensive line of Honda Genuine Accessories will be available, including spoilers and unique wheels.
Driver-Focused Interior and Technology
Inside, the Prelude offers an immersive, driver-focused cockpit with a clean design and excellent forward visibility. Standard features include heated, leather-trimmed front sport seats with a perforated houndstooth pattern and integrated head restraints. The vehicle provides 2+2 seating with a 60/40 split-folding rear seatback for cargo versatility.

Technology is seamlessly integrated, with a standard 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch HD touchscreen with Google built-in. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ compatibility, a wireless phone charger, and an 8-speaker Bose Centerpoint premium sound system are all included.
Comprehensive Safety Features
Aligned with Honda’s “Safety for Everyone” commitment, the 2026 Prelude comes equipped with a wide range of standard active and passive safety technologies. The Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assistive systems is standard, including Collision Mitigation Braking System™, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist System. The vehicle is also built with the latest Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure and includes next-generation airbags.
