Top-of-the-line plug-in hybrids plus diesel and petrol engines
Rüsselsheim. Elegantly sporty with intuitive controls and innovative technologies – this is the new Opel Grandland. With the fully digital Pure Panel, the new model offers the driver a completely different cockpit experience. The Opel SUV flagship also features additional technologies and assistance systems that until now customers only find in higher class vehicles. Especially the adaptive IntelliLux LED® Pixel Light with a total of 168 LED elements. The technology from Opel’s flagship limousine, the Insignia, is making its debut in the German brand’s top SUV and sets new standards in the Grandland’s market sector. The same goes for Night Vision, which is celebrating its premiere at Opel. The system detects pedestrians and animals in darkness at a distance of up to 100 meters and warns the driver. The semi-adaptive Highway Integration Assist keeps the Grandland in the middle of its lane and maintains the distance to the vehicle in front. Produced in Germany, the new Grandland also features the Opel Vizor, the brand’s new face.
Opel is also keeping to its electrification strategy with the new Grandland. In addition to economical petrol and diesel engines, customers can choose powerful, high-efficiency plug-in hybrid variants with front or electric all-wheel drive. The new Grandland will roll off the assembly line at the plant in Eisenach, Germany and go out to the first customers at the end of autumn.

Attractive in every respect: On the outside, on the inside – and in terms of price
The new Opel Grandland is now available to order. For a starting price of €27,250 in Germany (including VAT), the new model features numerous top-of-the-line assistance systems and travel comfort par excellence.
Every Grandland variant is highly equipped. Standard items include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and drowsiness detection, as well as cruise control with speed limiter. The exterior design of the new Grandland features the Opel Vizor and name badge set in the middle of the tailgate. Inside, the entry-level variant already has the Pure Panel that combines a seven-inch Driver Information Center with a similar-sized color touchscreen for operating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the Multimedia infotainment system (optional 12-inch Driver Information Center plus 10-inch color touchscreen).
In the Business Edition entry-level variant, the standard parking pilot for front and rear, the automatic parking assistant, the reversing camera and the blind spot warning system further increase safety. For matching performance, the Grandland is powered by a 96 kW/130 hp 1.2-liter turbo petrol direct-injection engine (Fuel consumption with manual six-speed gearbox NEDC1: urban 6.2-5.8 l/100 km, extra-urban 4.9-4.5 l/100 km, combined 5.4-5.0 l/100 km, 124-114 g/km CO2; WLTP2: combined 7.1-5.9 l/100 km, 161-133 g/km CO2).
Those who want to drive purely electrically and thus emission-free with a lot of power can choose one of the two plug-in hybrid variants. The new Grandland Hybrid can be ordered as a Business Edition starting at €44,290, or only €37,112 with the German environment bonus (Fuel consumption WLTP2: 1.8-1.3 l/100 km, 41-29 g/km CO2; NEDC1: 1.9-1.5 l/100 km, 43-34 g/km CO2; both combined).
Grandland innovations: Pure Panel, Night Vision, IntelliLux LED® Pixel Light
The Opel Grandland features powerful drivetrains for top performance and state-of-the-art technologies that can be operated comfortably and intuitively via the Pure Panel, which is formed by two widescreens in a single unit. This fully digital, driver-oriented cockpit comprises the latest digital technologies and delivers the most important information.
Another highlight in Opel’s SUV flagship is the optional adaptive IntelliLux LED® Pixel Light. The 168 LED elements integrated into the sides of the new Opel Vizor brand face result in a seamless adaptation of the light beam according to the driving situation and surroundings, without glare for other traffic. Another technology that further increases the safety of all road users when driving at night is Night Vision, which makes its Opel debut in the new Grandland. The system’s infrared camera detects people and animals up to 100 meters ahead, based on their temperature difference from the surroundings.
Also new in combination with automatic transmission is Highway Integration Assist. Using a camera and radar sensors, the system combines various assistants. The adaptive cruise control maintains the distance to the vehicle in front according to the set speed, while active lane positioning keeps the Grandland in the middle of the lane. Thanks to “Stop & Go”, the Grandland automatically resumes driving from a standstill. Further systems such as front and rear camera, automatic parking assistant and blind spot warning are also part of the extensive portfolio.
Confident appearance and high comfort
The new Grandland’s design displays typically clear lines. The Opel Vizor stretches across the front, while the signature Opel crease accents the bonnet. The Rüsselsheim compass design philosophy is also reflected at the rear. The Grandland name and the Blitz brand logo stand in the middle of the tailgate. Further accents are set by the bumpers and side panels, now in high-gloss black or body color depending on the version, as well as the underbody skid-plates in high-gloss black and silver. The new model is also available in the characteristic two-tone paint.
Top comfort in the interior: the ergonomic active seats – optionally available in Alcantara trim – certified by the “Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V.” (campaign for healthy backs) support good posture behind the steering wheel. The award-winning seats are unique in the Grandland’s class and offer a wide range of adjustments, from electric seat tilt to electro-pneumatic lumbar support. They offer heating and in the leather trim even ventilation. Comfort is further increased by “Keyless Open & Start” and the sensor-controlled, power tailgate that can be opened and closed by a movement of the foot under the rear bumper. Passengers enjoy top connectivity with the modern multimedia systems, up to the top-of-the-line Multimedia Navi Pro. Wireless charging in the center console provides neat and tidy “refuelling” for compatible smartphones.
