New PHEV Drivetrain

The Kodiaq iV features Škoda’s advanced second-generation plug-in hybrid system. This system combines a 1.5 TSI 150PS engine with a three-phase permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, generating 116PS and 330Nm of torque. The compact motor integrates into the DQ400e DSG gearbox and is separated from the engine by a clutch, allowing seamless hybrid operation.

Enhanced Electric Range

The Kodiaq iV boasts an extended electric-only range due to a 25.7kWh battery pack (19.7kWh usable). Located under the rear seats, the battery features integrated water cooling, energy storage from regenerative braking, and supports the heating and air conditioning compressor. This setup enables up to 75 miles of local emission-free travel in E-mode.

Faster Charging

A notable advancement in the Kodiaq iV is the DC rapid charge capability. The PHEV can charge from 10-80% in approximately 26 minutes with a peak speed of up to 50kW. The inclusion of a CCS socket allows for charging at any public rapid charging station. For AC charging, the Kodiaq iV uses an industry-standard Type 2 plug, achieving a full charge in around 2 hours and 30 minutes at a maximum rate of 11kW.

Versatile Driving Modes

The Kodiaq iV operates in three driving modes:

  • E-mode: Electric-only drive, active when the battery is sufficiently charged and the outside temperature is above -10°C.
  • Hybrid mode: The system optimizes fuel consumption by using either the electric motor, the engine, or both, depending on the driving situation.
  • Sport mode: Delivers dynamic driving by utilizing the full power of both the petrol engine and the electric motor, with a peak output of 204PS and 350Nm of torque.
