Kia PV7 Joins Electric PBV Lineup, Launches 2027

Kia has unveiled the PV7, its second all-electric PBV, at IAA Transportation 2026. Cargo and Passenger variants launch in Korea and Europe in 2027, with 23 variants planned.

Kia Corporation unveiled the PV7, the second model in its all-electric Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup, at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, ahead of a launch in Korea and Europe in 2027. Offered in Cargo and Passenger variants, the PV7 extends the brand into the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment on the PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S architecture. Kia will show the PV7 and its wider PBV lineup to the public at the Hannover show from September 15–20.

How Does the PV7 Advance Kia’s PBV Strategy?

Building on the PV5, which was named the 2026 International Van of the Year, the PV7 expands the scale and scope of Kia’s PBV offering. The company says its larger dimensions and broader application potential allow it to serve fleet, logistics and shuttle operations, small and medium-sized businesses, and personal mobility.

“The PV7 marks the next step in our journey toward personalized mobility, building on the foundation established by the PV5,” said Ho Sung Song, President and CEO at Kia. “By bringing together hardware developed for specific applications, business-tailored software and dedicated PBV services, the PV7 goes beyond the vehicle itself to deliver a complete business solution that helps customers achieve greater productivity, flexibility and long-term value.”

Kia frames the PV7 strategy around three pillars: hardware, software and service.

Hardware: E-GMP.S Architecture and Flexible Body System

The Kia PV7 is built on the PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S architecture, which the company says pairs 800V charging with long-range capability and a scalable drivetrain portfolio. A flat-floor design maximizes interior space and flexibility, and the exterior carries upright proportions and user-focused details intended to improve space, accessibility and everyday usability.

Kia’s Flexible Body System, which the company describes as a modular body architecture for developing diverse body styles and derivatives from a standardized vehicle structure, supports a range of body styles, derivatives and conversion models tailored to operational needs.

The two launch variants are positioned differently:

  • PV7 Passenger: flexible seating and long-distance comfort
  • PV7 Cargo: high load capacity, low loading height and business-focused practicality

Software: Kia Business Solutions Portal

On the software side, the Kia Business Solutions Portal supports fleet management, charging, maintenance and daily operations. Standardized Fleet Management System (FMS) tools and connected vehicle data APIs are tailored to customers’ operational needs to improve fleet visibility, Kia says.

Dedicated Uptime services add real-time monitoring, predictive diagnostics and proactive maintenance management, which the company says are designed to reduce operational disruption.

Service and Lineup Expansion

Kia’s PBV-dedicated services are intended to lower total cost of ownership and support higher vehicle uptime. The company plans to expand the PV7 lineup to 23 variants following the 2027 launch, with the PV9 set to follow in 2029.

“The PV7 has been developed to give customers the flexibility to adapt as needs evolve,” said Sangdae Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia’s PBV Business Division. “As a business-tailored tool engineered to deliver best-in-class EV performance, data-driven solutions, and total service excellence, it will enable customers to improve work efficiency, enhance productivity, and create greater value throughout the business lifecycle.”
