Taiwanese energy giant NHOA.TCC unveils fireproof energy storage solution with integrated EV charging, ready for global deployment.
NHOA.TCC, a subsidiary of Taiwan Cement Corporation (TCC), made a blazing debut at CES 2024, showcasing its innovative “EnergyArk” system. This fireproof and fire-extinguishing Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) cabinet combines energy storage with EV charging, addressing critical needs in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market.
Safety First: Rigorously Tested, Globally Ready
EnergyArk’s star quality lies in its unwavering commitment to safety. It has passed stringent UL 9540 and IEC 62933-5-2 certifications, exceeding even the demanding NFPA 855 standards. This fireproof cabinet boasts an ingenious self-cooling and extinguishing system, automatically submerging batteries in water to prevent thermal runaway.
Charging & Storage Synergy: Powering the Future
Beyond safety, EnergyArk shines with its integrated DC-DC charging and storage structure. This minimizes power conversion losses, maximizing energy efficiency and paving the way for stable fast charging without grid strain. This is music to the ears of both European operators, faced with supercharging station infrastructure challenges, and American clients seeking to stabilize electricity consumption for high-powered EV truck charging.
High-Power Charging Gaining Steam
In response to the growing trend of clean energy, international automotive manufacturers such as Hyundai, KIA, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, VinFast, as well as well-known charger brands like ABB, EVgo, Chaevi, and Star Charge, are all moving towards high-power charging trends, reaching up to 720 kW, and the need for energy storage became evident.
Partnerships for Progress: Building a Sustainable Future
NHOA.TCC emphasized collaboration at CES, partnering with WAE, KULR, and ZEROVA. Jointly, they developed high-performance battery modules and safer energy storage solutions, contributing to TCC Group chairman Nelson An-ping Chang’s vision of international cooperation for global carbon reduction.
EnergyArk’s CES debut was more than a showcase; it was a declaration of readiness. This fireproof, efficient, and scalable solution is poised to revolutionize energy storage and EV charging, powering a cleaner and more sustainable future.
