CHINA – NIO users have completed over 10 million battery swaps, making electric car charging more convenient than ever. Every 2.8 seconds, one NIO car departs a Power Swap station with a full charge. Ten million power swaps are equivalent to a total mileage of over 1.98 billion kilometers, contributing to around 130,327.5 tons of carbon emissions reductions. This is equivalent to the volume absorbed by 1.17 million fir trees over 30 years – making NIO an eco-friendly choice for drivers.
Since 2018, NIO has welcomed an increasing number of drivers to join the NIO user family to enjoy its rechargeable, swappable and upgradeable energy service system. With the continuous acceleration of the power exchange station network, power exchange has become one of the favorite ways for NIO users to power up. The popularity of power swapping has continuously gained momentum. In less than 30 months, NIO swapped 1 million batteries. Within 20 months, the company went from 1 million to 9 million battery swaps, and then within one month jumped from 9 million to 10 million.
NIO power stations are providing power exchange services more than 30,000 times a day on average, which means that it only takes 2.8 seconds for a NIO to fully charge from the power exchange station. The power exchange capability of the station is constantly improving, providing users with a reliable and convenient solution for their charging needs.
The power swap is a convenient way to keep the vehicle charged and also makes battery upgrades possible, allowing users to upgrade the range more easily and flexibly. As of now, NIO has offered 17,000+ battery upgrades for users, continuously bringing them all the benefits enabled by the latest battery technologies.
