Nuvve Holding Corp., a pioneering force in the electrification of transportation, recently celebrated a significant achievement with the deployment of its 500th electric school bus Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). This milestone was reached through a collaboration with the Orange Unified School District in California, underscoring the district’s commitment to transitioning from diesel-powered buses to zero-emission Blue Bird Electric School Buses (ESBs).

The latest procurement by the Orange Unified School District encompasses thirteen Nuvve Level 2 “PowerPort” chargers and three 60kW chargers, leveraging Nuvve’s advanced GIVe™ bidirectional smart-charging software. This addition builds on a previous acquisition of fifteen Nuvve Level 2 PowerPort chargers, aligning with the district’s ongoing strategy to expand its fleet of electric buses, which currently stands at 15, with two more on order.

Christina Celeste-Russo, the district’s transportation director, highlighted the positive impact of the switch to electric buses, noting enhanced student and driver satisfaction, along with financial savings on fuel and maintenance. The shift not only promotes a cleaner commute but also contributes to a healthier community.

Nuvve’s CEO, Gregory Poilasne, expressed excitement over this achievement, emphasizing the company’s role in driving a future free from fossil fuels. He pointed out the economic benefits of connecting 500 electric buses to Nuvve’s platform, projecting future recurring revenues between $1.5 to $2.0 million annually through grid service revenues enabled by their proprietary Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology.

Phil Horlock, CEO of Blue Bird Corporation, congratulated Nuvve on this landmark achievement, underscoring the synergy between Blue Bird’s leading electric school buses and Nuvve’s high-performance charging infrastructure in fostering zero-emission student transportation.

The accelerated growth of Nuvve’s K-12 business unit, marked by this 500-connected milestone, indicates robust momentum and aligns with forecasts for continued expansion of Electric School Bus (ESB) deployments across the nation. With this trajectory, Nuvve anticipates significant growth in charging station deployments and hardware revenues in 2024.
