Osprey Charging has achieved a significant milestone in the UK, with its network now featuring over 1,000 public rapid EV chargers. This development marks a notable expansion in the accessibility of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the nation.

The company’s rapid growth, increasing by 150% within a year, positions it as a key player in the UK’s transition towards sustainable transportation. According to Zap-Map, Osprey stands as the third largest Charge Point Operator (CPO) for public rapid and ultra-rapid chargers. The network’s expansion includes the addition of 15 high-powered charging hubs, equipped with 300kW chargers, enhancing the charging infrastructure in areas such as Devon, Cumbria, Essex, and several others.

Osprey’s commitment to reliability and user experience is evident in its 99% reliability rate and its recognition as a ‘Driver Recommended Network’ by Zap Map for the fourth consecutive year. The company’s excellence was further affirmed through awards like Best EV Charging Network at the 2023 Transport and Energy awards and Chargepoint Network of the Year at the Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence Awards (EVIEs).

Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging, highlights the importance of this expansion: “With over 1,000 public rapid EV chargers now available on the Osprey network, we are providing the essential infrastructure that drivers and industry are calling for to support the electric vehicle revolution.” He also emphasized the need for further support in terms of funding and planning regulations to enhance the EV charging infrastructure, echoing recent recommendations from the House of Lords.
